Began with planetstrike terrain this weekend and hope to get a fine set done.

May have a small advantage of existing COD pieces.

First part.

Building the skyshield. Landing pads are soo useful.

Nice Landing pad, never realised it wasthat big, so can't wait to see it get the Fhad makeover

There wont be a makeover until i get a( [s]smaller version of the warhawk[/s] ) different flyer to put on.

Actually slapping the parts on the skyshield wasn't a challenge until i tried to get the "expansions/shieldwalls" to work.
Seems the mechanics need some correction.
Found out, the Engineseer and his mechanicum buddies are to fat to fit through the hatches to use the ladder.
Diet or add a lift?

A technical paintscheme will do. Lots of grey, steel and blackened parts.

First fast shot of the unpainted skyshield and the parts of the Bastion:

Got a little distracted with advisors but returned to paint that skyshield.

So:

- wash - test. seems to work but is a pain if you didn't want to wash the whole model.
- added the lights
- eagles done. Fortress grey + skull whiter + minor spots with shadow grey.
- some metallic drybrush action. Isn't too bad, looks somehow like a cheap excuse to get it fast done...
- these "danger" stripes. Black + yellow does fit with grey.

Could you fit a thunderhawk on there?

Not sure. Could barely fit, but possibiltiy is high it doesn't.
Seems perfect for Valks.

Another option would be to enlarge the landing pad.
Normally you glue 4 pieces together, so if you add something "inbetween", voila larger pad now fitting Thawks.

Slowly but steady getting the skyshield done....

looking quite impressive and i like your idea of roughcoating the bottom, although i may just be biased cause i use heaps of the stuff myself

(notice to myself: its really fast way to use stairs .... don't use them scattered badly and knocked out the phone cam.)
( 2nd notice to myself: do not attempt to DS without JP or termie-suit. Seems some body parts disagree with that idea.)

So back on topic.

Began with the bastion.
Another easy to assemble kit. Nice options, don't glue the upper floor or any weapon, getting all set-ups swapable.

May add pics later. ( another Cam - another try. )

Nice work glad to see this terrain coming along nicely. (maybe try some bigger pics perhaps , i'm getting old and my eyesight isn't what it used to be :D)

One thing is it possible to put two bastions together to make a super building? Would you need to do conversion work or is it a built in function.

ps. I have lots of Terrain that i won from Games Workshop, that i could technically enter, but i'm working on something new and completely my own so give me a week or two

Need natural Eyesight? Have you ruined your SM-helmets optical sensors?

To answer the question: ( thougth i posted here something about that...)

-bastion parts are compatible with COD
-lots of different buildings made from bastion walls are possible ( pics in planetstrike book )
-there is no height or wide restriction ( only impossibility are round towers )
-conclusion => its a built in function
