Hey guys,

i've recently decided that, in order to feel less burn out on my Sallies/RG army, it will be getting slightly smaller, and I will be making a 500-ish point Iron Snakes army.

first up, is a rhino that i am whippin up, its still a WIP, but i thought id start a thread for you guys to see, and comment on, give suggestions, etc.

Very nice sea snake on that door. Sculpted/found how/where ?

Like the scheme, but feel that both doors should be white.
Seems you want the chapter badge and another marking on its sides, i assume either tactical or vehicle number then. Maybe the "door with ladder" could get a aquila as counterpart to the snake?
Would also suggest some weathering and a lot of "exhaust stains", so much boltgun metal just asks for this.

PS: dont let your dark elfs enter space, they wont survive the meeting wioth your I-snakes

lol, the sea snake is actually an extra banner topper from my DE Corsair box.

and my main reason for having one door in red, is as a similar vein to their armor (namely the color of their knee pads) and im afraid that too much white would brighten the overall look of the vehicle too much. I was also thinking of adding red into the recesses on the rear sides of the track.

So, rather than just leaving this at a Rhino, i would expand this to a full on "blog" of my progress into my Iron Snakes army.

So without further ado, i present the second Rhino, WIP, and a much more WIP captain.

Im liking the capt he's coming along well but (and this is just my opinion not a criticism) the rhinos are too bright. But i do like the side doors.

well, just an update as to the plan for the rhinos. Once they are "done" being painted, they'll be dulled down with some badab black wash.

I can only imagine these models look far far better away from the camera. The flash destroys some of the detail I feel.

Anyway, I'd use some washes and chainmail silver to give the captain some highlights, and definitely throw some thin washes over the rhinos to give them some color depth - large blocks of one color (metallic or otherwise) is quite bland to look at, although the artwork on the doors is bloody fantastic.

All in all, great work, just those little simple touches would give the models more life.

Keep up the good work

Dude! The reverse grip relic blade is brilliant ensisferrae! I like the clean lines, the metal work (again) and the wreathe is nicely done too!

Beautifully done my friend. Indeed, the reverse grip is pretty impressive to look at. I'm guessing that was simply a matter of cutting the hand from the hilt and turning it around? I'll certainly be looking at how to do that on one or two models of my own (for flavour of course! =) )

I honestly wouldn't have a clue about naming that fella. Very nice though. Keep up the good work
