with the salamanders almost finished and my deathwatch going well i've started the ravenguard. in this army i'll put all the models i like and are not in my salamanders and deathwatch (assault marines,scouts,speeders, some tacticals)

Land speeder



any tips on painting the logo? i'm not that happy with it

can you by chance, get a larger pic with the logo?? i cant make it out very well on that speeder... but from what i can tell, it looks very good.

The wellknown logo problem.
If GW would really add decals or metal shoulderpads......
but as far as i know GW did 3 DIY pads and there is the possibility of 2 more DIY pads.

So you either get decals from BoLS or paint the chapter symbol.

I decided to paint it (not well but acceptable as a form of " a white bird like creature" ).

Paint in grey (followed by white):
-begin wit body.
-add wings
-add head and feet
-clean up/correct with black



Not the best pic but i think the termies banner show the RG logo halfway decent.

You can draw it on with pencil and fill in.

I've actually never used that technique but might work. Failing that it is practice and patience i'm afraid.


I paint all mine, and its not fun but worth it in the end. braek it down into shapes. I start with a vertical line that will be the spine. measuring the top of th head to the tail.

then go from there, filling in the wing shape next.

awww yes the dreaded Raven guard logos, like people have said its either patience or decals (so that means money)

I don't think theres anyway around it tbh. so try it, repeatedly untill your eyes bleed (well maybe not that much) or just hang on for GW to stumble upon this little corner of the interwebs and makes some decals or shoulder pads (tbh i would prefer some official decals, the thought of replacing 50+ shoulderpads doesnt appeal to me

it is important to understand the structure of the icon, the raven can be mae from a few simples shapes.

Or you can just hope that your chapter is as cool as the Genesis Chapter, and get's their own shoulderpad.


(As anyone actually heard of the Genesis Chapter before, and is Peter Gabriel the Chapter Master?)

Has Phil C. also a place in this "genesis" chapter?

At least our sucessor (raptors) has FW parts, when some other marines lack that.
