Hello Inquisitor.

You've been following us for quite some time. Did you know that there was a chaos forge on Haelic? Or are you as corrupt as the demons dancing on its surface; did you turn the other cheek like your brothers?

Do you know what we fight for? You certainly aren't sure of wether to reach a hand out to help us, or throw the wrath of the imperium into our path. If I told you what our purpose was, would you understand the true meaning? Would you remember and fully understand what the emperor intended for this galaxy?

The Inquisition is too slow and to corrupt to react. Your treatment of the Imperium is the same as your handling of Haelic. You either don't care that it is rotting away, or you are too much of a fat sloth to notice.

I'd tell you to keep your distance and be gone, but i find humor in watching you sneak around the shadows, as graceful as an Orgryn. So don't go too far.

I will warn you from getting too close, though.

Quote:
Here is what i will tell you. To keep you wondering about what side we're on, we assaulted the fledgling Chaos forge which you now know about.

I took my finest bodyguards clad in terminator armor in a land raider, two vindicators, and held an Ironclad aboard the Light of Polaris in drop-ready status. The Watchers of the Northern Vale divided into combat squads, however, each took a rhino to carry supplies for our extended land journey.

Spirit Bears Spearhead

HQ
*Expedition Leader Osiris Solarium (Vulkan)

Elite
* 5 Man terminator squad "Specters of Ursa Major"
LRC - "The Boreal Meteor"
*Ironclad Dreadnought "Orions Will" - mg/hvy Flmr/pod

Troops
5 man tactical "Watchers of the Northern Summit" - rhino
5 man tactical "Watchers of the Northern Summit" - rhino

Heavy
Vindicator - "Dorn's Intent"
Vindicator - "Gullimans Vision"

The demons in the area comprised of

Greater Demon - Bloodthirster
Greater Demon - Bloodthirster

7-8 Blood Crushers led by a herald

~12 plague bearers
~12 bloodletters

A Slanesh Demonprince with Lash

BATTLE TYPE - CAPTURE AND CONTROL - WIN

The terrain was Volcanic. The demons forced our hand to make the first move, so I was forced to call down the Dreadnought Orion's Will.

The demons then appeared.

In the turns that followed, our vindicators extracted a heavy toll on each demons unit that arrived in their line of sight.

Orions Will failed to chase down and engage the bloodcrushers, but managed a wound on the Greater Demon of Khorne before being slain. As a final Sacrifice, Orions will wounded the demon in his final explosion.

In total, our tanks had to cross difficult terrain 7 times. All of the tanks became immobilized. Poor luck.

I was greviously wounded, though my bodyguard fought to save my mortal shell. I inflicted three great wounds upon the demon before i fell. My body guard destroyed it, and went on to destroy the other two bloodthirsters who were foolish enough to challenge their mighty Thunderhammers. 3 of my terminators fell.

Tactical Sergeant Anubis - from the watchers of the northern vale - won in combat against two bloodcrushers. outstanding odds. he slayed them both.

Sergeant Anubis's combat squad, regrettably, gave their lives for the emperor.

The Crusader Pattern Land Raider - The Boreal Meteor - tore demons to pieces with its awe inspiring firepower - in one instance, destroying 10 bloodletters in one devastating volley.

Both vindicators were lost to greater demons during the battle.

At the end of the battle, Sergeant anubis mounted in the land raider and charged the final bloodletters on the demons objective. The short sighted foes left their objective, and were then killed by the stellar performance of Sgt. Anubis.

It was a very fun game! Tried a new bat rep style, short but narrative - like it?

The units that took the cake tonight - TOUGH choice. Between the vindicators and the terminators really. I mean, 200 points of terminators stomping through 2 greater demons and a DP? talk about making your points back, and THEN SOME. The master crafted re-rolls were really what made taking on the super high WS bloodthirsters possible though. The vindicators just massacred stuff. And when i mean massacred, im talking like an entire unit of Plague bearers, gone, and then the better part of a unit of bloodcrushers, just gone. poof. Great luck on the part of the dice, but still very impressive. They definitely did their job before they got wrecked by bloodthirsters. Sgt. Anubis was nuts. talk about luck. Since when does any tactical sgt. take out 2 bloodcrushers, then charge a unit of bloodletters on the last turn to pull them away their objective, and survive till the turn end?? awesome fun with that one.

Game plan - 8/10 - My plan didnt go nearly as well as i had hoped. Most of this because my ironclad was forced to drop on an empty board, then had to play catchup trying to tie up the blood crushers before i could get into combat. If he had managed to tie them up in CC the whole game, it wouldnt have even been a close game.

My Opponent - 10/10 - Would have managed to tie the game if i hadnt loaded my sgt. on turn 5 and charged his troops on turn 6 almost 20" across the board. If he had killed my Sgt, he could have consolidated back to his objective too. Very skilled player who ranked top 15 in adepti-con this year, and who's fate to make top 5 had boiled down to a single dice roll. Ex: He used lash to spread my terminators in a 10" long line so his DP only had to fight them 2-3 at a time once he assaulted, though he only managed to take one down. Considering mech lists usually beat demon lists, he did very well.

Firing Blanks - Im voting my tanks for this one. FAILED 4/7 difficult terrain tests. oh, my god. frustrating. I wanted to go tank-shock nuts in the second half the game, and needed to tank shock to get my opponents troops off of his too. good thing i had a lucky game and a sgt. near my LR to load up.

Vindi mayhem! Heroic sgts? tis the stuff of legends!

I enjoyed it. Like the fluff your weaving, and again an impressive display on the board.

I might try Vulkan. One day.

Good stuff dude, and I liked the style too.
