Well, as i am getting settled in here in Germany, i have acquired a few random minis from the Fantasy line that i rather like (i am planning on doing a fantasy army, just not sure which one yet).

So for now, i shall show you the pics of what i have done (and have pictures of):

C/C is, as always most appreciated, especially since all comments generally improve painting skills and mini quality

I really love the wolf pelt nice use of colours that are natural, and the armour on the horse is a really good mix, nevr thought of using gold for highlights but it looks really nice.

Glad to see you've been bitten by the fantasy bug, main thing i have to say, look at the troops, you'll be painting alot more of them then in a standard space marine army, so pick some you genuinely like

Any fantasy flavour in your mind ?

be careful, you tap into fantasy and end up playing D&D ....

And empire ( where your ulric priest stems from ) has usually some minis on the table, so as WRJ said,
get something you really like.

The model in those pics may have a focus in its beard or the pelt to draw your eye to?
I think most "characters" in fantasy are colorful in old pics, but this changed to "more dirt".
Plan is to paint him up as a bright model ( pre battle ) or as a old grumpy priest ( after battle ). ?

on my "plate" right now, is the whole box of chaos knights (5 in total) the blister pack with 3 waywatchers, 3 Teutogen Guards, Ulric, Lokhir Fellheart, a Dark Elf lord, and a Wood Elf lord, and a Khorne lord on Juggernaut.

The juggernaut, i suspect will take some time longer than anything else, since i suck at pinning, and the glue takes so long to set on the metal minis.


Ohh, and to answer Fhadhq's question about whether the Warrior Priest will be clean or "battle dirty", im thinking that ill use just enough wash to bring out the highlights and give more detail, but still give him a clean, priestly appearance.

what, no goblins!!! You disappoint me! Cool chaos knight though so i might let you off for not going green!

C/C is always most appreciated Though, one opinion related question, what color shall i make his eyes?? or better yet.. how do you paint the eyes on fantasy models (its not as if they have eye lenses like marines)

I ve heard there are two ways: one says paint them white and place a dot , other say paint them maybe black and add white.

Personally evaded to have to paint too many eyes by collecting knights ( yes the wear helmets ) or human infantry, so i needed only a threathening stare behind a beard.

But with elfs, maybe grey/blue ?
The pointy eared are some challenge to paint. The tree-flavoured ones seems to go brown/green, as yours.
I would think about more colors on them than youre using with space marines.

I really like your stuff so far, i definately like the contrast on the wood elf i think you have a natural touch for them. like the contrasting colours as well, whilst the blue and the green keep it looking natural.

any ideas of where your heading next?

Dark out of space elfs?
Can i blame some owners of pointy eared creatures?

Should support your decision from a model point of view. Great line of GW, they look good.
(did never dive into fantasyhammer that much, so darkblade is the only druchii i know ).

So i see an unfinished khorne-fanatic and some too bright DARK elfs.
The blood crazy one may need a little more "threatening". Eyes?
The druchii should be a bit darker and as corsairs maybe get their cloaks from creatures of the sea, so more scales and skin and
evil grin and plundered riches?

I dissagree. dark elves dont have to be "dark" and i think the fact that you've chosen something other then the traditional warlock purple scheme is a very good decision.

for example my dark elves start of Regal blue and go up through the blues till enchanted blue and on some ice blue. its not a very dark colour ut i think it works.

Glad you chosen to own everything in the warhammer world (for if it were not for us nothing would have existed!) one day we shall rightfully take back what is ours and it is good indeed that another general has chosen to aid us.

For lord, liege and khaine, be strong and cunning my fellow druchii and we shall soon reclaim our birthright!





ps nice models and i love the direct order dreadlord (mine has become a BSB becuase swap the sword for a big banner, (cold one knights for example, and it somehow just works ) if you need any help iim no expert but 'll try to give you some advice.
