Awaking with a start, SyNidus glanced around him attempting to re-orientate himself. Getting up, he walked to the special locker that housed his armour. Drawing in a slow breath to calm himself he placed his hands on the obsidian doors of the casing. He pushed a button on the side and the doors slid open, revealing his polished black and white armour. The suit was a composite of different suits passed down to him from his various mentors.

The white gauntlets were given to him by Captain Usher of the 6th company, with the command
"If you see injustice, change it with your hands"

The black breast plate, emblazoned with a white raven across the chest.
"Your greatest shield lies within"

The leggings were the only thing remaining of his original suit. It's surface was unmarred save for 4 gouges in the right thigh.
"Fire and Lightning are nothing if not where they should be"

Looking up, SyNidus stared reverently at his helmet. The black helmet was a highly modified Corvus pattern, it's most subtle difference lay in the colour of the eyes. The maker of this helm had crafted for himself a brilliant set of azure lens. SyNidus recalled the hours spent in the ship's forge, with the maker of that helm, listening as He spoke. The crafter's skill allowed him to create an entire suit of artificier armour from older suits found in the ship's armoury. Well, he had to have such skill, he is a primarch after all.

SyNidus recalled the circumstances that led to his acquiring the helm forged by Corax. The 5th Shadows had achieved their objective, they had found the primarch, but their lord refused to return to Deliverance until he had completed a task. There was a fierce battle, together with the primarch, they fought valiantly, but the tides of the battle were against them. To save his men, the Captain ordered a retreat, but to save the Captain, the Primarch made him bleed.

Standing beside Lord Corax himself, our lightning claws bared to face the next wave. I had ordered my men to return to the thunderhawk and watched as the traitors crested the hill.
Looking back, His voice rang through the vox comm, "My sons, prepare to retrieve your Captain"
Puzzled i turned to him as he removed his helmet, his black eyes transfixing my own.
Placing his helmet in my hands he said calmly "I'm sorry SyNidus" before grabbing my head and crushing my helmet around my face. Dazed i suddenly felt his knee smash into my stomach, forcing the air from my lungs. Before i could double over 4 blades impaled my right thigh, i screamed and collapsed to the ground in agony, before i knew it, i was being dragged aboard a thunderhawk. Gripping Lord Corax's helmet, I could see nothing but i heard the explosions outside the craft before blacking out...

The intercom rang, breaking him from his daze and alerting him to a waiting vox line.
"Yes?"
"My Lord, we have reached the Hexperax system"
"Good, find the nearest Chapter vessel and take us alongside, i'll be on the bridge shortly"
"Acknowledged"

SyNidus looked out his chamber windows at the star system, wondering what it was his Lord had sent him here to do.

Brilliant work mate the fluff is excellent. Is that why you were away for so long??? :D

Yeah, i was trying to figure out a way to fit the campaign into my Company's fluff while not suffering from the "superman-complex". What better way than to be irreverently beat down by Corax.

Anyway, please do count this battle as my first one.

hey no probs i really like the idea just cant wait till you find out why he's sent your company to this backwater of the galaxy oh the possibilities

your first battle has already been noted haha we dont hang around and because of the christmas give away you've earned a few bonuses as well.

we may be awarding points for fluff, but with the huge amount already posted, and the fact that fluff is purely subjectional, we will have to sort out a fair way of marking it to keep the campaign as a whole reasonably balanced.
