This is the document that will tell you not only the dos and dont's but also the values and objectives of the forum, along with an explanation of how somethings work around here. New forumers are required to read this and understand it.

Values:

Respect, Honour, Excelsior, Duty

Here at Sons of Corax(SoC), we strive to cultivate a peaceful and harmonious home for the Raven Guard and it's successors. Before this, Raven Guard players never had a forum to call home. It was with this intention, I created the SoC forums. To that end, all who visit it's halls must understand our values.

Respect: Respect others. Be respectful always of others. We may differ in opinion, but as others respect your right to hold one, respect the right of others to hold theirs. Respect yourself and don't lower yourself by displays of immaturity or disrespectful behaviour. For in Respecting others, you show respect to yourself.

Honour: Always, be honourable in word and deed. Morality is said to be subjective, but we all have a general idea of what honour is. Honour is keeping your word. Honour is doing what is right. Honour is having integrity and dignity.

Excelsior: We strive for excellence in all things we choose to do. Be it playing 40k, to painting, writing stories or expressing different opinions, we strive to do so to the best of our ability. Beyond that, we should continually push ourselves to excel and perform better and better.

Duty: Our community is based on mutually supportive duty. We all owe a duty to each other, to not only support, but to learn and teach each other. We owe a duty to contribute to our home(SoC), and indeed, to uphold it's good name.

Objectives:

We have two Objectives here at SoC.

1) The Home of the Raven Guard and it's Successor Chapters
- SoC serves first and foremost as a base and home for all Raven Guard(and successor) players. It's a place to relax and enjoy the company of fellow Ravens.

2) The Catalyst
- SoC also serves as a staging ground for the long campaign to not only make the Raven Guard more well-known, but also more recognized, not just by the player base, but hopefully by GW as well. To that end, i've created special projects and threads.

Rules
These are the rules, abide by them and we'll be just fine. Breaking them will result in a warning from the Administratum, 3 such warnings.

1. No, flaming/trolling. Argue all you want just don't make it personal.

2. No, unauthorized advertisement. Contact me before you make any advertisements in any of the forums.

3. No, excessive swearing. This is a public place so try to act like you are in public. The swearing isn't necessary to get your point across.

4. No, spamming. You only need to post a message once. I understand some multiple posts… maybe the server didn't respond as quickly as you would have wanted, but I will not tolerate spam in any form. Do not spam the same message in multiple forums either please.

5. Obscenity - i.e., "naughty" pictures, links to pornographic websites, etc. Do not, under any circumstances, post anything related to, or including XXX pictures, links to pornographic websites. This also includes VISUAL representations of profanity, i.e. pictures of folks flipping the bird and such. While things like this might be considered "cool" or "funny" to a few folks this is not the place for them.

6. Don't use derogatory terms, under any circumstances. It is something that we do not tolerate at all. No racial epithets, defamation of sexual preference, gender, or affiliations of any sort. Offenders will be prosecuted to the full extent of Chapter Law. You want to post on the board and be treated like an adult then you had better learn to speak like one. You can get your post across without having to sound like you are in the 3rd grade.

7. Army Builder: Do NOT post asking for cracls for this program. Failure to comply will result in banning--no warnings. You can get ABDEMO where you can make up to 500 pts. ABDEMO is free. If you don't want to pay for it then don't use it.

8. Posting up Army Lists in the varius Forums:
Please DO NOT post fully tree'd out army lists (ie: shows the points values of EVERY item in the list). A simple total points spent for units is the best. It is an infringement of GW IP to post up lists that somebody could use to get around buying the actual codex. This applies to ANY forum that you plan on posting your army list. Better safe than sorry here folks.

9. Off Topic posts- Please try to keep your topics at least loosely related to 40k and/or the Raven Guard. General 40K talk is great, including tournaments, upcoming releases, etc. but please keep it under control. Things that DON'T belong are anything dealing with politics, religion, and/or moral & ethical debates. There is a section now you can talk about stuff not directly related to warhammer 40k

10. Respect GW's IP rules, as posted at GW's site and repeated here. This means no posting of rules from the Codex, White Dwarf, Citadel Journal, etc., except as is reasonable for purpose of discussion. This also means don't post pages of fluff. Don't offer to scan, copy, send, sell any or send by carrier pigeon, copies of material from Rulebooks, White Dwarf or ANY GW publication.

11. I operate on a 3 strikes and your out rule here (in most cases). You'll get 2 warnings and then the 3rd time you break the rules your gone with no warning. These rules are basic common sense stuff here folks and I don't think I am asking to much for everyone to follow them. In very rare cases somebody may be instantly banned. The grounds for this include extreme breaking of the rules, hacking, spamming, etc.

12. People that are banned may be allowed back at my discretion, but don't hold your breath.

13. Closed Threads: Closed threads will have an explanation as to why they were closed. If something is closed, then the topic is DEAD, do not start another thread asking "why was my thread closed" or "thats unfair".

14. No trading or selling posts outside the trade section.

15. Signatures. The forum allows signatures, and I encourage people to be creative. However, please keep all of the rules in mind, as I reserve the right to edit any signature I deem inappropriate. Additionally, if you choose to use images in your signature, please limit them to ONE image, not larger than 400x150 pixels. Any larger signatures will be removed and a polite IM explaining why.

16. No Political or religious debates. This is a forum about miniatures, lifestyle and general gw hobby topics. If you want to talk politics make your own forum

Above all,

17. Please enjoy your stay and make the stay of others enjoyable too :D
