Hiya ppls. Im working on my scouts atm and Im wanting one of the guys to be lying down withe the sniper rifle on the gun mount. does anyone have any tips for cutting and glueing the pieces to get into that possition? I dont want the scout to be holding the rifle if possible. Kinda hard to explain but hope that helps.
Ive looked on the net for ideas but cant seem to find anything that is what Im after. Most ppl just seem to keep the scouts the same shape which is boring!! lol
anyway thats for ya time to read this n hope some1 can post something helpful :)

=> ppl,... Tip: Using the keyboard and typing the whole word in would be appreciated. :)

I dont see a gun mount on any sniper rifle from GW. There is a catachan sniper lying down and aiming.
Can't remember any other lying imperial model. :?

Maybe post a drawing to explain what youre looking for.?

I think he means the rifle with bipod. To do a prone scout would need a lot of cutting, filing and green stuffing wich can be a 'mare, a couple of little tricks i've seen to make the positioning a little easier are simply to model the base around the figure so it looks like he's really trying to stay low another is to sculpt a camo cloak onto him. Out of interest if he's not looking down his sight how would you model him, maybe as a spotter holding a pair of binoculars?

I think the easiest way would be to build a scout lying prone with no cloak and then greenstuff the cloak over it, following the natural lines of the model. There would probably bee some trickery with getting the head placed so that it looks correct, but you'd be able to ignore how a lot of the model comes together under the cloak.

Huh, might have to try this when I get some more scouts.

I just assembled some scout snipers, the models are fairly simple, but must restate, they don't look easy to convert. I can help with prone firing position critique... I was in the Army, we seem to lie down a lot to shoot! There are lots of picky little elements to look for, it depends on how crazy you want to get. I'm working on moding a storm cout crew to sitting and alternate positions... you can get the crew on ebay pretty cheap.

For a scout lying prone to fire, I'd recommend the Catachan sniper and sculpting the scout armour onto him. I've done this conversion - when I borrow the camera from work again, Ill post some pics of him.
