That NMN is simply just w0w =)
Very nice, though a little bit of a shame that he'll never see battle =(

IMO, regardless of the paint job, the hobby is as much about the playing as it is about the painting!

We are now up against live, hostile targets. So, if Little Red Riding Hood should show up with a bazooka and a bad attitude, I expect you to chin the b!tch.

My missus says I've got the mental age of my unborn baby girl, but what does she know?

Bro CR.. I am actually more a gamer than a painter. Nothing feels better than cracking skulls in the name of Khorne :).

But this Blacknight guy.. nope. He has done enough battles back when he was young. He no longer serves the Emperor with his axe, but wisdom.

Oh my gosh! That guy is right into my top 3 all time fave Raven Guard models Lord AK. You have inspired me to put more time and effort into my minis. I just get to eager to get them on the table.

But seeing this captain reminds me that I must try harder!

Top drawer stuff.

Nice chaplain. Maybe another pic with him seen wholly?

Tip: pics from flickr can be inserted inside the img tags.

-click on Img,
-copy pic address and paste in after Img and before /Img.
-done. maybe use preview to control the post.

Pic address should NOT include this: "1.2.3/bmi", so with some image hosts you'll need to cut that first off.
Usual Flickr address that works everywhere begins like that:

www.farm [ different number here ] .static.flickr.com/ [ first numbers/letters ] . [ second number/letters ] _ [ third numbers/letters ] . [ letter for size, a L or M or S or nothing ] jpeg [ data type ]

The set of numbers/letters identifies your pic, the farm X identifies the storage and the size letter differentiates the size of the pic.

I do often copy the image address from other sites ( flickr or dakkadakka gallery ) to my posts here.
What i find is, take care to exclude the "1.2.3. / bmi", plus always copy the full size pic.
Easiest way for me is using 2 open windows , one at SoC and one at the source.
Go to source and choose pic, copy adress, return to Soc and insert copy into the image tags.
Hope that helps. :)

Hey steevn!

Sweet painting. The backpacks on your salies are awesome, I'm loving the inquisitor though.... I appreciate al the extra details on your models... its all very cool.

The avatar model, how did you do the magma/armor panels? I'm curios as to what paints and washes you layered there.

Also, The skin tone on the sallie (sans helmet one obviously...) is very cool... what did you do to get that effect.

thanks
it's been a while (bought a house, renovation going on)
iirc method on avatar
foundation merchrite red all over the model
lots of devlan mud wash "pouring" all over the model, letting "huge"drops dry out so you get darker spots
armor: build up with some browns mixed with reds, oranges
magma : foundation orange building up with blazing orange, sunburst yellow, skull white, i think i've put a red wash somewhere in between

salamander face, simple : scorched brown, blood red eyes, black wash, layer scorched brown, highlight eye with blood red, highlight skin with lighter brown (mix scorched brown with... snakebiteleather i think)

man , bad memory, sorry

most of my models i try this procedure
basic color, wash, again basic color layer leaving darkest unpainted, lighter color layer, highlight
i'm not a fan of mixing a lot, sometimes i put paint on top of not yet dry paint to semi-blend, hope it helps

Hi Steevn, thanks for the tips... I'll post you on my progress, although my distraction is differnt, I'm learning to orchestrate and I'm finishing my 1st symphony.

Hi Charron, Nice name by the way... from what I can see your mini is awesome, but the photo is tiny on my computer, I'm curios do you have a larger pic?
