Dont get confused with black, these are the techy ones.

the Iron Hands are like the RG a old WD list and more fluffy than generic.
Had to change a lot for 5th ed.

Plan:
-add more dreads
-change the bikes squad
-redo the Tacs to fit into codex Space Marine lists.
-new role for the old HQ
-more razorbacks.


Razorbacks already done, also Tacs done and Some Dreads.


To do:
-more dreads
-assaultbike and add some special weps to bikes

Sounds easy but things like metal ven dreads are really a challenge to your patience.

looks very nice although i am a bit dismayed at another brother turning to the iron hands (some things just never die )

a bit early to comment but i like your thinking about how and what you want to include and tbh if this is the style your continuing throughout i think you'll make (IMO) a nice fluffy iron hand army

The IH are somewhat troubled since they got no SC and just a single piece of fluff. ( YAY for IA )
Their relations to the Mechanicum should allow a lot of not so common builds and i had a hard time to
decide what to take. Because i lack restrictions in points ( its not aimed at a given amount ), there is
not much impossible.
So had to choose the possible and ( since GW dropped the ball with techmarines ) moved to Dreads.

Tip: Bless the plastic dread. Do not suffer to buy the metal ven-dread.

The metal abomination of a model and my autocannon conversion:

For me, the forums are a dark grey colour, i thought this was the default? Black is almost imposable to see on it. Yellow works great though!

yeah for me black was a default, but i just highlighted the text by draggin over it

like the autocanon conversion just the idea of four guns on a dread seems very iron hands to me

im interested how did you actually make the quad auto canon dread? would a tutuorial be too much to ask?

Recipe of the canon Quad-atuocannon-dreadnaught:

-plastic dread
-4 lascannons ( source here = predator sponsons )
-additional bitz ( mags from predator turret, spare sarcophagi-plates )

1) build standard body.
2) add some plates. Used spare sarcophagi-plates (reworked a bit and filled gaps), spare hatches and lights.
3) storage supplied arms for swappable weapons.
4) take 1 lascannon, cut lower 15% ( the cabling, stop at casing ) away.
-Attach this lascannon to another lascannon.
-Now youre having 2 barrels. Cut the nozzles, we need to change them and lengthen the barrel too.
5) find another tube of the same diameter of the lascannon barrel. Should be similar in style if possible.
-add a tube to each barrel, should have twice the legth of its original barrel.
-gather the cut nozzles and turn them 90°. Saw/ cut a gap on the opposing side of the already existant one.
-cut the nozzle to a tube ( change them from the usual lascannon style to be a autocannon "silencer" ).
6) add the redone nozzles to the barrels.
7)Add another small piece of tube ( slightly smaller in diameter than the barrel looks best ),
maybe 3-4 mm, to the barrel. ( advantage of tubes is : you get a hole )
repeat step 4-7 with the other 2 lascannons.
( would not hurt to use sponson ones, they are left/right sided )
9)place the "arms" at the dread and compare their position with the original arms.
10) make a hole into your new dread arms. ( i assume you marked where it should be ).

Voila, quad autocannons.

To Do list:

- Company champion = done, plastic model from command squad
- 2 vets with power weapons = done, 1 old metal captain and 1 old vet sarge ( weapon swapped)
- vet with power fist = done, plastic marine
- apothecary = done, techmarine without servo-arm
- Captain = started, metal vet used
- 2 typhoons = started, interieur done and TML got from DA sprues
- plasma-cannon arm for Dreads = missing

Looks good for me. The command squad and the speeders will complete the force soon.
