I'll do Landspeeders and Pods...

I'll do landspeeders first, in the mean time if anyone wants to do the Pods first then post what you're doing in the main project thread and go right ahead.

Hm... Seems that a shrike with motf+pw +5 servitors with no extra might make an interesting combination if they do indeed get fleet.

Now, is there anyone that can get the servitors without extra weapons bits? The box gives you 4 2 with weapons and 2 with sevo arms, right? I balk a bit at dumping points into servitors... I dunno.

On rerolling the ones for plasma weapons that are twin linked, I hadn't thought of that!

I'm about 50% done with aquiring the models for tenth co.... I plan on getting cage in a few months. Then I'll be adding bike elements a khan figure and some tanks too, as support from other units and to mix up my rg army.

I always build my troops first, I guess having been one, I appreciate them a lot! But hereos are fun to name, and I'm a roleplayer at heart too.

Just a quick update i have the conversion beamer pretty much done just waiting for one bit. I'll buy some more bits and do a tutorial (with bitz prices) if people like it. (it's looking to be around about a £3 conversion though, so not exactly cheap for a single weapon) i'll link the picture here, and if i get the go ahead CR i'll let you know and you can either splice it into this thread or put it as a footnote to the tactica.

That sounds great, and at £3 its hardly bank-busting, but does push the final cost of a single model up to like £15.
Feel free to splice it into this thread. If you put it into your first post (as well as somewhere else in the thread) then it'll be right underneath the Tactica and easy to get to, or I can just tag it on the end of the Tactica with all credits to you? =)

Whatever you want mate, i'm easy :D and it's not exactly breaking the bank (cause they're already broken) but it does make it another addition to an already expensive kit (for what you get anyways) And if your an idiot like me and used the thunderfire canon techmarine it'll cost you even more.

Does anyone have a conversion idea for putting a tm or motf on a bike?

Erm.... Captain Hacksaw, wanna help out here?

I know the Techmarine with Servo-Harness is a metal model (hence the expense), though I expect him to come in several pieces with the harness separate from the model, letting you stick the harness onto a suitable biker. The arm with the power axe might be separate too, but I'd have to buy one to let you know (which I plan on doing!) Really, all you need is a normal marine biker with some quality little changes to his armour, the power axe arm, harness and head from the Techmarine model.

To make a techmarine in full servo harness would be a pain, but by all means not impossible. A littl angling of the lower servo arms could make them slide easily to either side of the bike, and as the back pack is removable it wouldn't be that hard to do. BUT and it is a big one, the techmarine model itself is a complete metal model, so you'd have to convert a standard biker like CR has said. It wouldn't look the same, and you'll miss out on all the fancy greaves the techmarine has, but definatly a plausible option.

What cpt hacksaw would use.

A standard space marine bike and biker.
Assault marine harnessed chest plate (to signify it holding the servo harness backpack).
ALOT of green stuff. to do the fiddly armour and the helmet (probably best to just use a standard one and convert.)

I would also try and be clever and convert the bike computer panel into an auspex, and have a lot of cables running around.

still if i did it, i'd probably have the smaller sevo arms holding the handle bars and the techmarine lying back with his hands behind his head :D:D:D

Just to let you all know. The main article has been updated with the video that Jasp made detailing how to make the Conversion Beamer. All thanks, love and rep go to Jasp for yet another epic build!

Wow dang. That MotF on a bike with the beamer.......drool......

Seriously, I was thinking to myself " I need something really big to shoot and I dont like vindicators.....I wish there was another S10 AP1 weapon to use so I could have 2 land raider redeemers in my army....I wish someone could have a tactical nuclear launcher or something...."

I will totally make the bikey forge boom guy HQ 2. The more I read these tacticas, the more sneak and boom my successor chapter becomes. I guess that's why I went for the successor chapter instead of straight RG. Thanks you guys, you make the transition from 3rd ed. Tau to 5th ed. Space Marines so much less painful and awkward. Kudos!

Beware on that one.

Probably you will have only one shoot at S10 AP1 before the enemy comes too near.
So it isn't exactly the same than 2 vindicators pie plates.

IMO, 2 Redeemers is a bit too short ranged.
If your opponent is clever, he can deny you two turn of shooting with them.

Pretty bad for ~500 pts...

I would take one + one LR with lascannons.

Glad you like the MoTF and I'm very happy you like these tacticas!

The MoTF with Conversion Beamer on a bike is raw power with sugar coated sprinkles. Very fun to play and very effective at staying alive. The 'Master Blaster' build is pretty expensive with just a bike and beamer, so keep his costs down and dont bother with extra wargear, instead just keep him well away from the enemy and keep him moving to make him harder to hit and you'll do great.

Oh certainly, if your MOTF stands still...

If you keep him moving and stay as far away from the enemy as possible and shoot the units at the back (which would be the enemies long ranged units typically, like firedragons, snipers and so on) then you'll have plenty of S10 love to go around =)

Enjoy!
