Had a nice idea with all those fine terrain pieces coming in. Why not start a thread for what we use alongside our models?

So here we go:

SoC terrain competition

I can't provide more than the Honor actually, may change if requested.

-1) we will collect pics of your entrys in a seperate thread.
-2) you have the whole summer to show off, since fine weather may slow down some of us
-3) suggested end date: october 09. ( I am open to suggestions, could expand or keep it endless )
-4) have to insist that you own what you post. Do not try to fool us with "photoshopped" or "borrowed" pics.
-5) entrys may consist of products of GW or FW, still other companies are also welcome.
a little description at your pic may help us to identify and other gamers may benefit from sources you have found too.

What should I enter?

anything considered terrain. Thougth of these "drawers":

official 40k:
- Cities of death buildings. Must not be imperial, could be xenos stuff too. Places to live and work.
- Planetstrike terrain. From a single bunker to a planetwide fortress. The army stuff.
- barricades, craters, wrecks, bridges, trenches, firing positions. All those small pieces to add some detail.

personal 40k:
- open category for pure scratch builds of the above 3 .

environment and gaming tables:
- natural terrain. Hills, woods, swamp, desert, mountains, rivers,...

how to seperate the entrys?

- category A: was ready built , i have painted it.
- category B: built/converted a kit and painted it.
- category C: required non-wargaming material, slapped it together and painted it.

Sounds complicated? But it isn't.

I'll provide a thread where you put your pic and a small informative text.
When we got our work collected and time runs out ( date not set yet ), I'll provide a poll for everyone to vote on the entries.
To differ into 3 "levels of achievement" seems fair to me.

Goal: to remind of the other pieces, these not getting the glory of the fight, but stand there and suffer.
Its not "that tlos blocker", a lot of the gaming environment is also a fine piece of modelling experience.

examples:
40k GW or FW kits

non 40k kits recruted to serve

disclaimer:

Its all Fhad's fault. So complain and whine at the PM adress provided under this post.
Remember i'm fire resistent, so flaming won't work :P

Before I forget, one person will not join or participate and thats me.
I may provide examples, but those will not participate in the final voting.

Comment away. 8)
