Hey guys,

i'll be starting my project soon, but before i do anything i need to gather up a few of my ideas. Firstly, Which helmet should i use?

This one:

I think it'll give a sleeker feel to the overall army.

Or This one:

Which might look more avian.

They'd use anything between Mk.3 and Mk.6 armour (they hadn't recieved Mk.7 at the time of the Heresy).

*digs out Heresy Art Book*

The artwork shows them wearing either Beakie helmets, or the helmets in your second picture. My advice would be to mix the two.

Heresy era Raven Guard all seem to be wearing Mk. 6 helmets... but I'd be willing to bet that Mk. 4 helemts would be more representative than the artwork in the collected artwork of the Horus Heresy. But of those two helms... definately number two.

I would also lean to n° 2 if we get no other choice.

Still those Mk 2-6 helmets are all superior to these "faceplate" style helmets. I believe the artist tried to do helmets like medieval one with ( visor ?)

but this seems wrong since the first mk 1 hadn't closed helmets and the later ones were fully enclosed suits.

Could turn out as very knightly in style if you follow this artwork.

why do the second ones look like they belong on white scars????

thats the only reason i don't like them though, so i would say first set.

first set for sure

might wanna think about scultping a couple helms and then casting them yourself - might be less time consuming - prolly worth lookin into?

top one. And I have seen a tutorial on how to do it. Scout around B&C as I think it was there.

I quite like the look of the first one. It seems to show less emotion than that SW one.

See, that's something i can't seem to decide on right now. There's something about both the helmets. I need to take into account ease of conversion as well though

i think the second one is actually more of a rebreather mask, but with the style of the artwork, its hard to tell...

but im also leaning towards the first one :D

the second one would be easier to convert, like ensis says i don't think you'd have to do too much to alter a rebreather mask into the helm you see in the second picture.
