Hi,
I've got a question concerning transport vehicles and shooting from them. Can unit in transport shoot another target that transport did? Let's say that my razorback wrecked a raider can I shoot (with unit inside RB) guys that are now out of Rhino, or transport vehicle and transported squad counts as one unit (so they can target only one squad)?
Same thing with Dark Eldar raider. Can warriors inside target another unit than raider with it's dark lance?

Thanks for help

1) if your transport has something that is used (firepoint?) as per page 66 BRB, than 1 passenger may fire.

your problem is here. No firepoints on a razorback. So disembark to shoot.

2) since transports and transported models are 2 seperate units, they may aim at a different target.
3) still restrictions from movement do count, so if you moved the transport this may prevent you from shooting not only vehicle mounted weapons but also those
of the passengers. (also page 66 BRB to find).

4) you may hop out of the transport and shoot the opponents, which is far superior to shooting from the transport if you actually wish to engage.
5) drive by shooting is fine if you need the transports armor as protection. Still not possible with razorback.

I hope that helps, but remeber thus above isn't a quote.

Yup all I need, RB was a example (I didn't know they have no fire points :)) my question was generally about raiders (open topped and fast vehicles). So I can drive by up to 6" and fire away all my guns and crew at different targets :)

Thanks a lot

Brilliant way to have transported heavy weapons able to fire, turning a rhino into a single shot plasma canon razorback.

Hmm I guess You can't shoot plasma canon when You moved rhino even up to 6" (squad inside counts as moved so You can't fire heavy weapons), but when stationary it's all legal.
Ah and I found exact rule it's in Warhammer 40k Errata and FAQ's March 2009 (General FAQ) states:

Q. Must passengers fire at the same target that
their vehicle is firing at?
A. No, they are a separate unit (albeit they are
temporarily co-existing with the vehicle) and so
can fire at a different target.
