Right a long time ago in a galaxy far far away (sorry wrong story). I posted questions asking for what people thought of the Ravenspire would look like (I do believe that was when I first joined so go figure). Anyways I said that this was because I wanted to write a story from within so here goes. Oh and this is btw the origins in essence, backstory and how the Crusade and Julius came to be.(N.B. Please save all abuse stone hurling and any violence towards me for the response thread thank you.)

The blue thunderhawk entered the docking bay with a grace that belied its shape. It landed into a wide empty room. The walls were lined with granite like look about it. The engines descended to a hum and slowly but surely turned off. Mindless servitors then went to attend to the blue aircraft, to refuel and make it ready for it to take off once again.
Inside the aircraft five armoured figures stood at the ramp waiting its lowering. Marcus Laertes, Carles Solinus along with their Captain Julius Bellerophon whilst Admiral Valius Atavain stood at the back whilst Gaius Crassus stood separate in his resplendent black armour. They each wore a long blue cloak with black interior apart from Atavain who wore a fur trimmed white cloak with blue interior but each wore a single golden bird that held together their cloaks irrespective of what colour. Marcus sighed. “Something wrong, old friend?” Julius asked his face marred by the lack of a natural left eye to which he lost to an Ork on Ferrous Prime.
“Aye, this pomp and circumstance.” Marcus replied shaking his head “Makes me nauseous especially when there is so much work to be done.”
“This is necessary because without their aid we can’t do complete the work that is to be done.” Julius replied softly
“I still say it can be.” Carles interrupted “We could probably accomplish it only with the guard at our backs!”
“Do you want to defy the lord of Macragge, brother?” “Aye, we maybe able to accomplish this work on our own but it was his will that we do this together.”
“Unity of our glorious emperor’s sons into battle will be a most grand site.” Crassus intervened “Long have I awaited to repay the debt owed by our fair chapter on Ferrous Prime.”
“Pray we don’t gain anymore, chaplain.” Whispered Julius as the ramp began to fall. The warriors expected great crowds ready to impress the coming emissaries. In its stead they found an empty hanger, bar the bustling servitors. “Perhaps they forgot we were coming?” Marcus chuckled.
“They most certainly did not.” a lone voice said from a far. The black armoured marine got up from sitting on the metal crates and walked towards the five his long white feathered cape flowing across the floor.
Julius smiled at his old friend as he approached. Corvus returned the smile. It was a cold and almost predatory grin just like when they first met Julius thought. His mind wandered back to that day.

Right due to popular support part 2 :D

The room was a buzz of chatter and movement. Several Imperial commanders attempted to relay information to their subordinates through vox communicators and various cogitators. Julius, then a Veteran Sergeant entered along side his Captain, the mighty Cato Galenus. Two figures in black power armour stood at the stratagem table attempting to persuade the Imperial guard generals and officers that they had superiority. It clearly wasn’t needed but still the officers resisted. “You can’t enter here and attempt to order us around!” one of the larger more rotund commanders in a dark green uniform and bearing the rank of colonel was saying “We have commissions.” One of the black armoured figures snorted.
“I don’t give a damn about your supposed commissions.” The other snarled “We have one purpose to serve the Imperium, and your actions have resulted in failing that duty.” He drew his side arm aiming it between the commander’s eyes and clicking the safety off. “I am more inclined to put a bolt in your head than to allow you continue your existence.” He clicked the safety back on “but personally I believe that to be a waste of my ammunition and that you should do it yourself.”
“Damn you!” The commander reached for his side arm removing it from his holster. The Raven Guard whispered something under his breath.
“Pardon?” the commander asked lowering his weapon slightly. The Raven Guard moved fast grabbing the wrist and elbow of the colonel breaking it “Get that incompetent fool out of my sight!” he hissed to a couple of guards. They did so without hesitation.
“Well that could have been handled more diplomatically.” Galenus said moving to the stratagem table.
“This is war we don’t have time for diplomacy.” The Raven Guard said “I am Captain Corone Sinaatu I presume you are Captain Galenus?”
“Aye it’s good to finally meet with fellow marines.” Galenus stated “Now what is the situation?” Julius moved to be alongside his captain opposite the other Raven Guardsman. He smiled recognising his old friend Corvus Mahier. Corvus smiled predatorily at Julius. They had served previously in the Death Watch of the Ordo Xenos and it was good to see him again.
“The Orks assaulted the planet rapidly moving from the jungle to assault the urban centre. Many cities have fallen already as the Imperial Guard has as of yet been unable to hold them back.” Corone stated “Our own numbers are small and while many amongst our chapter would wage a guerrilla war I am not so inclined.” “A definitive victory is required in this sector lest the entire system feels the wrath and taint of the xenos.”
“So.” Galenus said placing his hand in a posture of thought. “I am presuming that you have formulated a plan?”
“I have.” Corone replied the stratagem table ignited to life. A blue tinge was given to the areas still Imperial held, yellow to the areas where major battles were being fought and red to the Ork held territory. “The Ork’s hold this land pretty extensively.” “But they are drawing themselves out towards the southern hives, of which the guard have little chance of holding.” “To defeat the Ork’s we need to strike at the heart, which we believe is here.” Corone pointed towards the heavily forested jungle region on the south east of the continent. “This is where you come in if you agree.” “The swine kin are heading here.” Corone directed his hand to a series of hives on the coast “And there is only one hive city left on this area.” He indicated the most western on the coast of the ocean. “It will not stand not unaided.”
“I presume you are talking about my company?” Galenus said turning hard faced.
“I am your Ultramarines would be the best situated to defend here.” “When enough of the brutes are drawn there, we will strike here at the centre of this infestation in the jungles.” “The orks will either be divided or killed by our forces.” Corvus shuddered slightly but noticeably.”
“Captain this plan seems a little…risky.” Julius whispered to his captain ensuring only he was audible.
“Aye, it is Julius but as I said earlier be diplomatic.” Galenus whispered a smile cracking his aged features. “We agree that this seems the best course of action at the time being.”
“Very well then let us begin immediately.” Corone said.

Next parts sorry it took a while. Trying to keep 2 parts ahead.

The corridor was grey stone. It was a reminder to its days as a prison. In fact the doors that were still doors that were still relics to the time long past. New additions had since been made in the form of black rock pillars with a white ivory like raven carved into them. The ravens flew freely around the corridors passing messages between the rooms or just flying free. It was quite awe inspiring and yet so humble. Outside the moon surface covered in buildings around the area. Huge smokestacks poured out their poisonous chemicals into the already polluted atmosphere. The air here was cold, the party’s breath condensed into a mist. They clanked down the halls each keeping step with one another by some miracle of training. “Many of the Ravens are not present at this moment in time; they are away fighting battles so the spire is quite at the moment.”
“I never expected there to be many of you here in the first place old friend, as Astartes we are never away from battle for long.” Julius stated
“Yes very true.” Corvus replied. They proceeded further down the corridor passing two warriors bearing storm shields, spears, fully laced in mark six armour wearing robes as though pearl white which contrasted against the black of their power armour. Corvus bowed his head reverently; the party did like wise and the warriors acknowledged this. “Our honour guards, they protect the library and other secure areas of the spire.” Corvus explained as they continued to walk.
“Where are we headed?” Carles enquired. Corvus gently inclined his head to face the Ultramarine.
“To centre of the spire.” Corvus answered. “Where our chapter master resides and the business of…politics is concluded.” Oh yes Corvus knew what business politics was in the Raven Guard. The last time he had been there he’d experienced it.

The Razorback bounced along with the suspension as it headed through the countryside. It and three others carried Corvus and the combat force towards battle. Each of the brothers onboard the transports sat in silent reverence probably chanting their own prayers or hymnals to the Emperor. He placed his own mark six helmet on and opened a private vox channel to Captain Sinaatu. “Brother Captain I am unsure as to why we have to use our fellow Astartes as bait for this plan.” “Surely there is another way that would not invoke terrible losses on either part?”
Corone chuckled mirthlessly. “Corvus you are very young and know much of warfare but not enough of its execution.” “We need to do this so we are best able to use our talents.”
“But surely there is another way one that does not involve the slaughter of our fellow brothers?”
Corone slapped his hand onto Corvus’ armoured shoulder pad. “One day Corvus you will learn that whilst brother Astartes they are not true brothers.” “Now come on we need to be ready the orks are inbound to our location and I want to be able to get the jump on them fast.”
“As you wish Brother Captain.”
The party of three Razorbacks rolled through the savannah fields they came to a halt at a cross roads from which the marines dismounted. Several buildings and a water tower stood along the road abandoned and desolate their owners long ago fled for the supposed safety of the larger hives.
“Establish a defensive perimeter.” Corone ordered into his helmet. “Nothing should threaten the vehicles.” Corvus meanwhile busied himself ensuring that each marine was in his allotted place. He sent some troopers up into the water tower to act as a lookout. It was hardly needed. After approximately an hour of setting up they came. Running, bawling, slobbering the beasts came, Black smoke rising from their engines as they pushed them as hard as they could towards the town.
“Wait.” Corone cautioned. “Wait.” The orks were almost upon them “Fire!” He bellowed the lascannons on the Razorbacks hissed through the air hitting two of the buggies coming at the line. They veered off into other trukks and carnal monstrosities that the orkid brain clearly thought was the pinnacle of ingenuity.
Then the bolters joined in, gunning down the infantry as they came closer. Each ork, that could, kept coming onward though trampling his companions in order to get closer.
Corvus walked down the line of his companions firing off the odd shot with his bolt pistol. “Captain.” He called into his vox “We need intervention protocol one now, this position can’t hold out much longer.”
“A few more seconds Corvus, just a few more seconds.” Corone growled back.
The orks collided with the marine’s frontline. Marine fought beast in a bloody melee Corvus leapt to the front. He kicked away a large orks legs, bringing down his plasma pistol blasted its head to pieces. “WAAAAAAAGH DIE HUMMIE!” Came in from the left of Corvus the creatures choppa aimed for his head. Corvus blocked with his forearm preventing the blade from dissecting his head from his neck. His power armour’s servos whined as he flipped the beast over his shoulder. Quickly he levelled his pistol, a bolt of superheated energy consuming the pig like ork head.
“Third and fourth squad engage now!” Corone bellowed into his vox.
The assault marines came out of the sun. Smashing into the ork ranks their boss couldn’t control the fear within his boys. The smaller orks began to run from the fight, fear lending them strength as they ran while the larger more muscular stood their ground only to be cut down in a flurry of chainswords by the assaulting marines. The boss continued to bellow orders for the xenos to regroup. Corvus ran into a full sprint he bounded onto the trukk the boss was bellowing from. Corvus smashed the beast over stamped on its head. He then dived back aimed his pistol and fired. The lumbering beast managed to avoid the shot. “WAAAAGH!” the ork bellowed at the Raven Guard marine. The beast attempted to use its power claw to crush. Corvus ducked and rolled under the attack. He drew his chainsword, rolled to the side and slashed at the beast’s guts. The blade whined as it attempted cut through the thick plates. He dragged the blade along the body as he avoided another attempt to launch a blow upon him. Corvus got behind the beast and then began to hack away at its servos and circuitry stopping the creature in its track. Leaping from this position Corvus reversed his grip with the chainsword and brought it down into the monsters cranium. The whirling blade threw up brains, blood and ichor soiling Corvus’ armour.
He managed to gain a fleeting glance; all around marines slaughtered the beasts ripping into them with bolter and blade. Then the break occurred. The Orks at the front seeing their leader dead ran backwards while the ones at the back not seeing this pushed forward, both sides attempting to get away and get into the fight respectively. The bloody melee expanded, not only was it Raven Guard marines fighting and killing Orks now they were busy killing each other. Savages Corvus thought. If any race is worth exterminating from this galaxy it’s these damnable xenos. Corvus leapt off of the trukk. From there he directed another squad to move up on the left. They did so slaughtering the remaining Orks on that side. Then the second break came realizing the desperation of the Orks in front the rear beasts broke as well, fleeing in what few vehicles they could muster. The marines continued to fire upon them until they left range.
Corvus walked over to Corone. He handed him the status reports, apart from a couple of minor wounds the squads were fine. “Also sir we have confirmed the orks are moving towards the lower hives.”
“Excellent now we wait.” Corone replied moving away to make sure the squads were mounting up.
