I'll take the 8th Company as I have a lot of assault. Captain Feros levitas. I've got background on him and i'll post it at some point.

Remember that the 8th Company isn't all Jump-Pack Marines, Assault Marines also ride Bikes and fly Land Speeders!

I play the 9th company, which I had already picked before I saw all of the "taken" company numbers :P.
I'm gonna have to think up some fluff though...

None of the companies are "taken" per say, i know we're all mature enough to say that we can have 2-3 different interpretations of the same company.

40K has a lot of different time zones :D, you could just have an earlier 9th company than someone else..

Raven Guard Strike Force Levitas

Cpt Feros Levitas leads a strike force into the ravaged Duletus system to locate and support the lost company of Red Talons 2nd, lead by Cpt Fernandez. An ill fated mission to locate and secure a pre-imperium buried “city of gold” of eldar and human origin, now belived to be in alien hands. The Red talons left stranded after a mysterious accident decimated their cruiser in orbit. Warp storms and numerous enemies confirm the sector hostile and in need of imperial stabilizing, with the governer of Duletus prime not responding and imperial guard regiments declared awol.

Captain Feros Levitas 8th company
The young levitas was plagued by ravaging nightmares and rages as the chapters gene seed altered his body. It was a credit to his iron will that he came through at all. The side effects however left him with a feral temperament as he struggled to control the predator instincts. Brilliant and intellectual with animal like cunning in strategy, fearsome in combat as he strikes from the sky like a bird of prey. The perfect lead for the 8th assault company.

Vet Sgt Torval Terminator squad
Predicted by many to be the next first captain, and few would argue against it due to a long and glorious record. A juggernaut with lightning thought and tremendous courage even in the face of the most terrible foe. Many have fallen to his mighty axe Final Justice.

Vet Sgt Fortune Scout squad
A warrior of many battles, hard as iron and resolute. He has lead and trained many of the chapters great heroes and continues to hone the young recruits and underline their important role within in the chapter. Fortune has survived near death many times, a lictor taking his arm on Ichar, he now has bionics in its place. Known as old bullet proof by those that know him well.

Vet Sgt Immotus Tactical Squad
Reliable veteran with customary vision and flexibility a tactical sergeant requires. Deadly with his storm bolter as well as up close and personal.

Vet Sgt Tempesta Assault Squad
Ferocious, impetuous, ambitious but extremely skilled. At the front of most assaults shocking the enemy with lethal lightning strikes. A devastating weapon when deployed in the right place.

Vet Sgt Rokh Assault Squad
Calm, calculated, lethal. A veteran of the Ichar campaign amongst many. Was the sergeant to a young Levitas in his assault squad before the captain rose up the ranks. Often councils with his captain and is his most trusted warrior. The thunder to Tempestas lightning.

Strike Cruiser : The Silent Night
The fastest ship in the fleet. A stripped down hull makes space for displacer and cloak field generators along with larger sub-warp engines. Made for speed rather than ship to ship combat, primary role to get in behind enemy fleets undetected and enter orbit. Holds two Blackout class Thunderhawks equipped with supercharged engines and scanner disrupters.

My Company of marines is based on the 2nd founding chapter - Black Guard, using the fluff off the Bolter and chainsword forums http://www.bolterandchainsword.com/inde ... rticle=162

My company consists entirely of veterans from Istavaan. Every one has filtered into Deathwatch for their experience, and the company has recovered only 10 terminator suits from the dropsite massacre. The company will never field any new suits, they have vowed to only recover and use these ancient artifacts. The company will recruit 1 scout a year (all that will ever survive the tests) and from these maintain a small unit of scouts.

While I understand this does not fall into codex lines it does take into account a small group of purist RG that simply put are Ghosts in the machine.

Symbol: RG
Colors: Red trim for all, Siver Helmets (not white) for all SGTs, eagle is boltgun, left knee is red for assault, right for tactical.
Weapon of choice: Flamer, each squad has the maximum number, power weapon or lightning claw
Characters all but librarians as Corax disliked them

All models have the deathwatch shoulderpad and access to all of the special ammo.

Units Captain, Master, Chaplain 1 command squad, 2 squads of term ( one of each) 1 vet squad, 4 dreads one is a fallen chaplain and another is a fallen company champion, 2 full tactical squads no heavy weapons, 5 full assault squads, 2 5 man scout squads sniper/missile, 5 bikes and no vehicles. The company deploys via droppods as needed.

Total numbers 112

So your marines are all well over 10,000 years old? Do Space Marines even live that long?

Sorry mate, I have to agree, Space Marines do not live for 10,000 years. The longest I think (excluding Primarchs) is Dante who has lived for around 1,000 years.

umm, i beg to differ. as im sure that physically speaking they could live that long, in practical applications, they dont. the only one i can think of who was around at the time of the heresy, was bjorn the fell-handed.... but of course, he is in a dreadnought now.

personally, a dreadnought is about the only practicable way to live for 10,000 years as a space marine, unless of course, you play on the other side of the fence and dont particularly like our Daddy.
