Very promising! and your certainly getting them out fast mate! How are you enjoying the chapter badges!! ;)

Are the bases finished or require further work? maybe a wash or something?

I'm not a fan of the yellow eyes, specially on the white helemets, but what ever works for you.

A really solid start with the washes doing well. To take it a step further try a few highlights or tidying up where the wash goes. The whites in particular would benefit from this.

Keep it up!

AS far as i was doing, the bases are done as well, these are basically as done as done gets.

I really only did the yellow eyes on the white helmets for continuity with the force. thinking that since you usually see ravens with yellow eyes in real life, i thought that it would be perfect to mirror that in my minis :)

the chapter badge isnt all that difficult, it just takes inspiration for me to get it done. that and the way i paint it, they usually end up slightly lopsided.

I'd try a wash on the bases, they do need something else. Looks a bit unfinished. maybe a black or dark brown wash. Also paint the sides of the bases a similar colour. Just some suggestions!

The chapter badge can be a pain. I usually start with a single white line that forms the spine of the raven. If that is straight then the rest follows easier.

Maybe on the white the yellow eyes need some sort of shading. The contrast isnt strong enough and it takes from the head, which is the models focla point. Try a brown wash around the eyes, but with a fine brush.

I'm just being picky, buts its how you learn and get better right? ;)

I am very impressed by your rocketing start. :)

:o well painted. :)

And a fine coach (MA) found too.

Termies are one thing (low headcount) to do, so i hope you keep it high with the "bread and butter" marines. 8)

thanx... nearly got the base and quite abit of the major parts of a tactical SGT done... perhaps ill take pics of it tonight, so y'all can see the WIP :)

but alas, the tac sgt will be the last entry from me for awhile, as i am headed home on leave, and most likely will be spending more time with family than trying to paint :D

Duuuude....you've got some very nice painting there.

My only advice would be to go easy on the badab black, some surfaces just don't need it. Plus, the Raven Guard emblem looks better pristine white :)

I really like the weathered look your termies have, but I tend to agree with Sy, you have been somewhat heavy with the wash on the tac squad. Weathered = good, clouded = not so good.

I would do something about your tacs' shoulderguards, especially the green part. It looks somewhat dull and I think it would look spiffy if you darkened the recesses and hightlighted the edges.

But a solid job you've done. Been inspirational.

Very nice. Your termies look like they have been doing the rounds.

@Fhadhq, you are correct in that there is no metallics on the Tac Squad's backpacks

and TBH, the marines with the heavier wash on the Chapter emblem shoulder are generally the ones where i wasnt all that happy with how the raven turned out, otherwise i did try and go lighter on the wash. also, hadnt really figured out just what route to take with highlights on the right shoulders, though a lack of colors available is not my problem :D

Ok guys, got a REALLY small update here. Got a couple pics of a Salamander HQ (most likely wont have much of a spot in the 'rotation' at this point, but who knows what the future holds) one quick note, if you notice his cloak, what i was going for was a look of a "natural" fire, so that it looked like a true blaze as he moved around, lemme know what ya think

As always, C/C is very much appreciated.

Enjoy:
