if you've been paying attention you may have seen my black reach stuff, and now i've converted most of the marines, i've strayed into the path of the orks. With Janu-waaaaaghhh-ry coming i've decided i want to make a theme army for the orks, just a small and quite possibly non-legal force, i just want to try something a little different.

The ideas i have a lots of deffkoptas, storm boyz, war buggies (well basically a big tray being lifted by some more deffkoptas ) and i have a few more ideas but not quite sure they'll fit the Air-Cav theme (units such as warbikes etc, unless i can find a way to make them JETbikes ) finished of with one or two fighta-bombaz.

(ps. please tell me there are gonna be plastic grots )

So if anyone has any deffkoptas you dont want/need/want to sell let me know cause i'll need heaps of them!!!! anything orky would help aswell. (i wont have money till early jan though )

[any thoughts or ideas would also be welcome, this project is in the design phase, so it hasnt even gone into production so if anyone has ideas it'd be a good time to hear them ]

Yes, new plastic Grots will be released in January (I've built them, nice easy kits). The new plastic Stormboyz are also out then (probably gonna get 10 and the character just for laughs).

No plastic Fighta-Bommers though...those are FW and Resin...don't try building one unless you're supremely confident!

with it being orks, i think that 1 or 2, should be changed to 1 or 2...dozen can never have too much firepower when orks are flying..should be an interesting project, will be looking for pics once construction begins

Haha i know but i'm not that serious about collectiong them, not even gonna get the codex , just always wanted to do a theme army, and with orks i can go completely mental with it. (tau are too streamlined which puts me off, and space marines are my fav army, but i've just ran out of ideas.) This was mainly for converting, i mean have three war-flyingboards (with da boyz on it) two big deffkopta squads, one big stormboyz squad and have grots running around everywhere and falling off certain stuff

but i think i must have a fascination with flying things atm, doing a few landspeeder conversions which i'll post up when i've finished the two i have.

must have been the rumour of the plastic thunderhawk lol

haha if only vakyries were £15, but the current state of the economy in england it may just happen next time the euro is meant to reach the stage when 1 euro = 1 GBP rush out and order one might save you about 25 euros (although shipping will always be a pain )

To be honest, the ork stuff is nice and it's a dream to convert. Anything goes in ork land.

I have a warboss and boys mob still doing nothing but looking painted and ready for a scrap. So I may dabble...and I may not. Un decided. But a sneaky ork force could be fun.

Still, a land raider for my ravens is first on the list.

Just wanted to get your opinions about ork jetbikes, I want to stick with the flying theme, but i like ork warbikes? so anyone know of anyhow i could convert them?

Orcs may use their koptas to fly....and i think you could scratchbuild a "megakopta" from some koptas, maybe a combo
of 2 koptas paralell mounted or 4 koptas in a square ?

But i doubt orks would have jetbikes, they seem to be obssessed with loud oily engines and jetbikes sound too space elf
for them......

oh yeah i mean everything in a lightyear i class as my neighbour just avoid the shifty looking planets and you'll be ok oh and avoid pluto, he's still a bit upset about being demoted to a minor planet.

I like your ideas Fhad, may have to try a MEGAKOPTA some day. Have a few ideas about the koptas but i was trying to think of variety, and well i cant think of many Ork vehicles that could be capable of flight, (although somehow the koptas manage to fly ) I was thinking of making it truely orky though, so get an ork bike, attach a rear engine and a few pointing downwards, possibly have rotors above it so it would be sort of deffkopta-ish, or even having balloons holding the bike in the air :P just wracking my brain for crazy ideas
