Can't help but feel its a bit BA specific I mean the original had BAs and DAs and any other marines really. Models look good though.

mmmmm, very nice.
Those BA termies would sit very nice in the BA army I'm painting for a friend. Wonder if someone's selling those models on Ebay already =)

The models do look good but i don't think i'll be getting it.

- its a one time gag. Pre - pay - order it. Have some nice blastscape deja vue.
- 3rd company product.
- seen how hard they work to have you preorder it? Limited may sound better for pre orders.
- the fun of it is limited, cant keep playing it more than a few moths so they need to get those boxes out.

No doubt its to push sales, anything with a limited edition sticker is gonna provoke a sense of urgency to those who want it.

However, as they say... its a new game.... not just a reboxed version of the old game (which would have definately be limited) so why make it a limited edition. surely the ability to get anyone who likes 40k now to buy it is good, but wouldn't it be better if people who are getting into 40k now or later are allowed to buy it. Give the poor GW staffer to be able to say to everyone "well if your interested in that why don't you try" ....... getting someone to pay £60 for a whole game instead of £200+ for an army is a lot easier, (and thats not including the rule book) and a lot more attractive to parents.

it's not really near enough to christmas to worry about, its a new game....i just don't see why it's limited :(

*gah brain explodes*

There is one burning question that I want to push to you guys.

Time and effort was spent writing NEW rules for this game, when 3 or 4 year old codices are far more worthy and would generate greater revenue over the period of their lives! Why did they waste effort on (what I do admit looks like a nice box set) when other things are more deserving?

I'll grant you the figures are great - in the must have category. BUT... at just shy of £60, the words priced themselves out of a sale occur to me. I'd havew paid 35-40, no probs, but £60? Sorry, GW, but I'm not buying.

So Jedideinos grants us that the figures are great...

How?

A guarantee?

Or guessing we'll not have another blastscape trick.

I am waiting until someone had a look at them " in real life" ( and shared this ) before i deem them worth a thougth again.

i can see them marketing it to duos anyway as it requires at least 2 people to play. halfing £60 doesn't work out to be that much, but still had peeps share things before and it didn't all work out too good.

and CR i think GW did it just to celebrate space hulk not to make a profit (although if its costing £60 to make a board game i think they need to sort out their production and manufacturing costs)

I saw the models, read the rulebook, even had a quick game and I am SO GLAD I bought two... (before people say, I only get discount on the first).

Some will say that £60 is a lot, but then again you have to realise that this is the 20th anniversary of the original Space Hulk (it's as old as me) and that there is a limited amount (next one not going to be til 2039 at the earliest). The collector value alone is immense...after a year, a £15 Harry the Hammer in its box will sell for upwards of £50...that's triple it's value.

Now apply that to a £60 box. £180 in a few years? That's enough for...what do normal people who aren't GW employees buy again?

The Broodlord mini looks pretty amazing.

Stryker's got a point though. Every time GW releases something labelled as 'Limited Edition' there's a frenzy to get a hold of it. The price of Space Hulk will go up though so it's probably worthwhile to buy a couple now and watch as they appreciate.

Not trying to be stupid here, but are these the same scale as our 40k normal game?

The Terminators are, the Genestealers are a bit bigger than the 40k ones and the Brood Lord is just HUGE!

It makes me wonder why GW doesn't just make all of their models look that cool.
