thanks

it's not very visible in the pictures but the yellow does not cover enough on large surfaces (brushstrokes remain visible in some cases)

the flames on the marines :
first outline on black foundation paint red (merchrite)
second outline blood red leaving a bit of the merchrite visible
third fiery orange leaving a bit of the blood red visible
4th sunburst yellow leaving a bit ... (you know)
5th white or mix yellow+white

on the vehicles i used extra iyanden yellow foundation paint and orange foundation paint in between the layers for extra covering but still the last layer had to be thick so it left brushpatterns visible in some cases (like the first droppodpicture)

but for my first try at a more elaborate paintingtheme i'm very happy with the result :)

Awsome models mate, love the paint work, the flames really bring this force alive, and nice use of some other kits to bring in an added touch of character! love the converted back packs and your command squad banner.

Quality stuff, keep it up :D

 Perfect.

I think you done well with the bolters+flamers. So the meltas just need bigger drills.

Boltgun: estimated size of drill = 1,0 mm

Meltagun: estimated size of drill = 1,5 mm
Multimelta: estimated size of drill = 2,0 mm

I did use my grandpa's set of drills,a fine set of drills 8) , range from 1,0mm to 25,0 mm (in steps of 0,1 mm), but i believe any semi pro set with 1,0+1,5+2,0+2,5..... drills wouldn't be a bad choice as modelling tool. :)

Metal weapons are a pain to drill, take care if you have them used.Beware of splinters,so => 8)
Plastic weapons are easy going. Just stop before you reach the mag of the gun.

Sweet job my friend. Excellent work! I know the sallies you mean with the lizard heads. You've done some top converting, love em.

Nice Vulkan. I've seen a few and yours is one of the nicer ones. Good stuff!

Looking forward to your Ravens

Overdone? No.

But remember: whilst important on historic military models ( where you know the environment the vehicle was in),
its nigh impossible to cover all the weathering that may happen on a space marine vehicle in different environments with
one model/paintjob. So its not "needed" to add specific mud/dirt/dust to a vehicle but can help its appearance to have
some "blackened" or "oily" parts, also ok to have some scratches on the painted vehicle even if its always loved
by senior members of a chapter to have some extra work at hand for the rank and file troopers ( like painting vehicles).

I think this vindicator is good work. :)

Looking forward to the whole army (and RG models too).
