It took me long enough but I couldn't write it quite nicely enough so I wrote it up in a fluff sense .

Brothers, it is with a heavy heart that I make this communiqué. I have to report that our first action is a failure. Brother Epistolary Zenon, Techmarine Vranix and Sergeant Lyceaus and his squad all barely made it off the planet surface before they could be overrun. Brother Ansolar has suffered wounds and will be a while until returning to action. While this is troubling news it is nothing compared to the fact that I have to announce that Brother Captain Bellerophon, Sergeants Carles and Cicero and Veteran Sergeant Venatio are missing. Our exploits have brought us into conflict with units that bare a winged sword. It is unknown what these vile heretics wish to pursue but it is confirmed that the surface of Rabe Welt has...changed.

The enemy, mobile in nature, threatened throughout the battle our left flank eventually breaking through. Landspeeders piloted by the heretics moved to our right eliminated the flanking attempt by the now deceased Scout Sergeant Praeotoris and his squad. Our action, which began at dawn, planetary standard time, resulted in a massive counter attack by several bike squads, a command chain mounted upon bikes and at least 2 squads of tactical scale.

While initially the dawn proved too dark for our brothers. The enemy clearly having time to be adjusted dispatched a number of our brothers from within Brother Carles’ squad. By now having the advantage, the enemy proceeded to press on engaging Carles’ squad with their infantry and pushing him back. They could not hold the objective on this side and were forced to fall back towards the approaching Cicero and Captain Bellerophon.

Meanwhile brother Zenon, Techmarine Vranix along with Lyceaus, Ansolar and the predator Annihilus took position around the second objective site. Ansolar occupied said objective whilst the predator Lyceaus and the others moved forward into an attempt to catch the enemy in crossfire. Needless to say this action failed.

To start the enemies’ bikes out manoeuvred our squads on the left flank. Caught between two bike squads and the two approaching tactical it is presumed that our brothers either fell back or were caught by these blasphemers and liars. This might be the case despite the support of five of our brothers who formed squad Venatio. It is however pleasing that the heretics sent five of their finest into the combat. Terminators armed with thunder hammers and lightning claws were rapidly despatched by brother Carles’ squad leaving only one alive.

Surrounded and outnumbered I pray my captain managed to withdraw before he and the others were all killed. Despite being unconfirmed Librarian Zenon assures me that I need not worry and that my captain and the missing squads have yet a larger role to play within this conflict.

From this point on the battle went into decline. While able to neutralise two of the fast moving speeders, Zenons contingent was surrounded and forced to withdraw yielding the other objective to the fast movers. In total the great enemy now holds four objectives and we were forced to leave the predator, despite Vranix’s protestations, behind.
