If i could, id show up as a mech pilot. I'd want to be able to be deployed in 1 of 2 mechs, either a Vulture with decent speed as long range missile support, or piloting a 100 ton Fafnir from MW 4 merc. Carnifex, meet twin heavy gauss rifles (google this mech, these heavy gauss rifles are literally like 10 feet in diameter) I don't think it would be too out of place, considering in 40k there are both far larger and far smaller walkers (titans and sentinels, for ex). Not to mention how VAST the universe is. Something like a dread or a LR would have nothing on a fafnir. I think the level of technology would be about the same too.

I like to think of the Marines deciding that they need their own epic support, and so created smaller, more tactical titans, rather than having to deal with imperial pilots and titan legion politcs.

I' d wanna be a marine, with BS like what an ace pilot should have. nothing spectacular like 4 wounds + eternal warrior of course. Since i was a pilot, and in a cockpit of a walker, i think id opt for a 4+ save rather than operate out of powerarmor. Give me a Power weapon or relic blade and a combi-bolter too. Flamer please. I could care less about power armor. give me a 4+ save. If im out of my mech in the 40k universe, im probably F@cked anyway!

I think the fafnir would be best represented as follows

Obviously worth as much as a titan or more.

Specter, Pilot champion of the Earthen
Ws BS Str T W I A Ld Sv
4 6 4 4 1 5 2 9 4+

"Wing of the Victor" Pilot
- In games of apocalypse, Specter may be accompanied by up to 3 additional fafnirs.
Only the greatest tank aces of a chapter are allowed the honor of piloting a fafnir.
Ws BS Str T W I A Ld Sv
4 5 4 4 1 4 1 9 4+

FAFNIR - Space marines heavy assault walker.

LINK TO PICTURE http://www.crymod.com/thread.php?threadid=9550
(sorry, not sure how to add hyperlinks)

AV 14, 4 or 5 structure points
2 "Thors Hammer" pattern Heavy gauss rifles = STR 10, ap 1 52" range, Heavy 2 each
Large ER laser x4 = 2 TLLC in 40k
Medium pulse laser x2 = multi lasers
LBX 10 x2 (basically a 3 foot bore shotgun) = STR 7 ap 3 blast, 12" range, if within 6', STR 8 AP2, D6 hits ( to represent the shot spread)

*Easy target. Due to the size of a fafnir (several landraiders high and wide), all units shooting at the fafnir gain +1 to their BS if the fafnir used the slow and purposeful rule in the preceding turn
*Able to deep strike using 'drop jets' disposable attached thrusters for low orbit combat drops.
*If in close combat, the LBX cannons may still be fired. Melee attacks dealt by the fafnir are resolved as shooting. Only the LBX cannons may be used, and hit any enemy within a 45 degree frontal arc.
*Crushed Underfoot - the Fafnir may attempt to crush a tank underfoot. Works as ramming base str 14 + movement dmg to represent 100 tons of pressure bearing down on the roof of the tank at 50 kph.
*ejector pod - if the Fafnir is destroyed, the pilot may continue to fight on foot, and may enter a wingmates mech, but enters via deep strike within a 36" radius.
*Alpha strike - opting to not eject, but to make a final stand of defiance in the face of the enemy, the pilot may push his mech to dangerous heat levels by reckless firing, trying to squeeze out every last drop of working firepower before dying. Before being destroyed, the pilot of the Fafnir may shoot every weapon TWICE. This may occur if the mech is destroyed in the opponents turn. Such an event is one of awesome fire power, and as such, his allies are stunned and amazed by the sheer volume of firepower and blinding light, and take cover as stray shots fly everywhere. If alpha strike is used, none of the players units will be able to fire that turn. The Mech overheats and explodes, destroying everything in a 12" radius.

vehicle movement speed (yeah, it was slow in game, but slow in MW is like, 55-60 kph, gotta be faster than a dread)
Walker Shooting rules. (all weapons may be fired)
Must use the 'slow and purposeful' special rule in order to fire heavy gaussrifles in that turns shooting

Me in 40k :?

Maybe as Sc for the IG to get "armoured company"?
WS 3 ,BS 5 ,S 3 ,T 3, W 3 ,I 2-5 (depends on :D or :evil: ) roll a d6?, Ld 10, RW 4+

Army special rule:replace infantry-platoon with Tanks (use IA books with a 20% points-drop)
Rules: unyielding = May not back up or flee, units ignore modifiers on their Ld.
Rules: focussed fire = template weapons (i.e. ordnance,barrage) from squads use the apocalyptic bombardment rules to hit.
Rules: Too many Tanks = Tank-shock is replaced by ramming vs ALL models.
:arrow: Non-vehicle models Roll equal or under I to evade.
:arrow: Jf not moved aside,every model in the path of the vehicle will receive a hit based on:
Type =>tank +1, heavy tank +2, super-heavy tank +3,
Armor=> 10=0 11=+1 12=+2 13=+3 14=+4,
Speed => slow +1 normal +2 fast +3,
(any special rule to evade ID does not apply to this attack.If youre hit by xx tons youre simply crushed)
example:
Leman Russ > front ram= moved 6" + av 14 + tank => 1+4+1 = 6
Baneblade > front ram= moved 6" + av 14 + SHT => 1+4+3= 8

Points to buy me? :roll: so about 600 :o Why? I use always a S-H-T as "preferred" transport :wink:

The Master Artificer

WS 3 BS 3 S3 T3 I7 W2 A3 ld10 save 2+ (inv)

Fury of the Creative:
The master artificer releases a torrent of creative waves at his enemies, potent energies that engulf and transform.
Uses large blast centered over master, all enemy within the blast must pass initiative test or be reduced to multi coloured goop.

Master Crafted Pencil of Helix:
The master weilds an ancient terran tool of unknown age and power. It fires a stream of micro molecular lead, able to sting a bit.
D3 hits D3 damage AP 1, Gets Hot! (master crafted so may re-roll to-hit and wounds)

Inspiration:
The master channels his creative energies and searches for inspiration at the begining of his turn. Roll 2D6. He may then distribute the result over his stats in any way he sees fit (upto a maximum of 10 in each stat) But should he roll any doubles then he suffers from block and may do nothing for the entire turn while he mumbles and screws up paper.

Stealing Talonclaws a bit

Jaspercation - The Shadowclaw

145 pts.

WS BS S T I A Ld Sv
5 n/a 4 4 5 2 9 2+

Wargear:

Master-crafted lightning claws, artificier armour (included in profile), mantle of the white ravens (if i can steal it :P), jump pack, Jagger-bombs, Pizza slice, coffee.

Special rules:

Pizza slice
I am driven into a furious rage because i think the enemy has stolen all the pizza! gains furious charge when assualting for the first time, if i lose the combat i have a -1 modifier to my leadership, Because the pizza has gone forever :(

Jagger-bomb
classed as a mastercrafted melta bomb, i.e can re-roll to hit, this shows how while drunk i will tend to do random stuff that will drop the guard of tank crews, leaving them vunerable to assault

Coffee
Must pass a leadership test each round or i become inititive 1 for the rest of the round, (due to lack of caffine)

:P :P :P

ps. im glad someone likes mechwarrior mercenaries :P I always loved the bushwacker mech from the mechwarrior series, so so cool :D

[edited to show mechwarrior love :P]

haha rock on that is a solid chassis

did you hear about mechwarrior living legends?

its a complete mod for crysis.. i thought it was going to be a bit dumb...

but OH MY GOD it looks good. Complete mod. Missions, mech bay, 28 mechs, all sorts of awesome stuff. They kinda went 40k on it though and said infantry are the only ones who can capture objectives, so its alot more tank/plane/infantry suit based, backed up by a few mechs. It looks really good!

This is to go along with the backstory for my Raven Guard Detachment.

Shadow Captain Grex Ventus - 160 points

WS - BS - S - T - W - I - A - Ld - Sv
6 - 5 - 4 - 4(5) - 3 - 5 - 3 - 10 - 3+

Wargear: Space Marine Bike, Lightning Claw, Bolt Pistol, Frag and Krak Grenades, Melta Bombs, Iron Halo.

Special Rules: Furious Charge, Behind Enemy Lines, Mounted Assault.

***Behind Enemy Lines - When held in reserve, Captain Ventus and a single squadron of Space Marine Bikers that accompanies him may come in from any table edge. Roll for reserves as normal.

***See SM codex page 132

---------------
Captain Grex Ventus recieved a battlefield commission to "Wing Captain" during the Raven Guard and Tau battles for the Planet Sintoris VI. Captain Ventus uses a vast majority of Space Marine bikes and scouts to grab forward positions, and then drop-pods his reinforcements.

During the Sintoris campaign Ventus was just a Veteran Sergeant in the Bike squadrons. His unit and Several Scout Squads were deployed via Thunderhawk and ordered to recon the outlying area before the full force of the detachment arrived. For three months, Ventus and his small force harried the tau, finally pushing them back to the plateau's of Sintoris' great desert. There Ventus called in the full power of the detachment and destroyed the remnants of the Tau on Sintoris forever.

Hailed by his Battle-Brothers and the Commanding Officers of the Imperial Guard that accompanied them, as vital to the campaigns success, Ventus was awarded the Imperial Laurel and made Shadow-Captain of the 7th Company.
