Me and evolved had a training round today to work out some things and i think things the way as they are, work really well, for all different game types (capturing objectives, and pure annihlation) so everything is groovy pants on that front,

as for how the training mission went, the adamantine cores for the bolter shells were replaced with paint, and well lets put it this way lots of ultras were multicoloured after the match , but that was due to sheer bad luck on evolveds part, if the first couple of turns faired differently it would have been an altogether different story!

Special credit to my Chaplin Erebus de volda, who with a squad of assualt marines held up and eventually defeated an ultra command squad and two combat squads (all at the same time ) i can see a promotion to master of sanctity for him in the near future

The game was seize and control with 5 objectives, in a spearhead deployment. Raven guard won by well i wont disclose, i think evolved still a bit upset about his bad luck and the ability of a lightning claw, as it it was a paractise for the campaign so it doesnt matter, but In campaign terms i would get 3 points for the Major victory, and evolved would be on 0 but deserves special credit for not just destroying but exploding my vindicator a grand total of 3 times in one assualt

In other news talonclaw has encountered heavy resistance against chaos forces during the early preliminary stages of his landings on laconia, fighting hard to hold several objectives to secure a foothold for the rest of the 3rd company, fighting each other with the hatred that only these two foes could harvest, the battle swiftly draws to stalemate after a deepstriking accident involving a squad of grey knight terminators. Hopes are high that the 3rd can quickly shift the balance of power and gain a foothold in the jungle wastelands.

Command has compiled a record of all battles fought so far and is pleased with the progress made. However more forces are surely needed to retake the whole system and so has spread word to the Ultramarine 2nd company. Hopefully with reinforcments arriving soon, we will stand a chance of taking the system.

on this note, we'd like to wish shadow-captain-lorien good luck, its good to have another raven joinging the fray!

starting next week special mission objectives will be posted, any commander wishing to participate in these can do so, but for a limited time only!! The battle for Laconia continues with the 3rd company pressing on towards the capital city. With mixed results against the tau, and suffering some heavy casulties, including shrike being wounded, mean that so far it is proving harder then anyone had imagined. Much more fighting will have to be fought to secure the road into the planets capital.

Command has lost contact with a scout party from the Delta Strike Force [DSF, NOT DFS!!:P] based on Evora, it is as yet unknown to the extent of the tyranid force situated there, but Corvus Mahier promises only vengeance for their loses!

In other news, captain benjamin beravehat set fire to himself after trying to cook a cheese toastie in a toaster while holding the toaster sideways and placing the cheese topped bread into it. Command emphasise's that you should not try this yourself or you will be given an unsatisfactory mark on your record, closely followed by a firey death!

Telemetary has been sent to the great Captains Sicarius and Agemann they will possibly arrive within 1 standard week.

Delayed and Delayed again unfortunately the 5th has yet to commit to Polsul as they are still preparing NO WE ARE NOT SCARED.

A new army list for the 5th will have to be written.

A Deathwatch kill team is also inbound current messages suggest that it will arrive with at least 3-4 standard weeks.

Important news From the delta strike force, warp anomalies, have been discovered around Evora, The task force has secured a small bridgehead on the surface, even when hounded by tyranids but will be without fleet support for the next few terran weeks, as they regroup in the shadow of the planet away from the anomalies, we will keep a wary eye on this and advise.

Talonclaw has recieved a commendation from command for completing the special objective set in the last report, he has once again proven himself! On this note, and with the reports of strange activities, Command emphasises that all forces use caution when advancing, and has added;

The 2nd company of ultramarines have experienced navigational problems and have therefore been delayed. We must take heart though as they continue to head our way bringing reinforcements, any commanders that have personal links to other Raven guard/ultramarine commanders are urged to ask them for their help in this dark time.

Yeah sorry guys for the delay on everything, i've had to keep the campaign on a backseat for a little while, apart from a few bits here and there, (i know such a herectical thing to do,) i havent been able to do much and i apologise cause you guys are doing such a great job. I was hoping Evolved would take the lead for leaderboard duty and updates, but as we've already found out the ultramarines are never on time :P

Give me a few days reading and catching up fully (cause its gonna take that long, with all the stuff you guys have posted) then the updates and leaderboard should be up and run as normal.

I must also apologise. Just started my course again 2 weeks ago and already they have me at the grind stone. But I have been keeping up to date with the leader board. I just haven't been able to post it instead its in a notebook on paper. As for games I haven't had the chance to rewrite my army list (I seem to be getting the points mixed up ) I know Dark Pheonix is willing but he just 1 doesnt have the time 2 is stuck working nightshifts so he can't really be involved atm. I apologise again and Lev we are in the system just haven't made planetfall yet seems Polsul has a series of political knightmares that you have to sign through BEFORE you can drop .

Campaign command is pleased with the progress of ours forces with one planet already secured, we can hopefully focus the majority of our efforts elsewhere. That said the imminent arrival of the 8th company has spurred the morale of hardened veterans, and i have no doubt the 3rd and 8th will pacify the hostile regions of Lakonia.

++++I have sent requests for aid to the Ultramarines on several occassions and have had no success. This has left me no option, Captain stryker of the Nova Ravens, If the upcoming battle goes ill, prepare for a full scale planetary bombardment, leave no desolate plain of ice uncracked, the warp gate on the planet could act as a staging ground for chaos forces, we can not let our brothers fall to the same fate. Make sure you survive though, you have proven a commendable admiral of the fleet and your air support has been greatly recieved, Thank you for keeping the tau off our backs, and the tyranids you saw on our position were held off but at a high cost. I am planning my attack as we speak, the chaos forces outnumber us two to one, and with more coming each hour i will have to strike swiftly++++

I strongly advise people to stay away from coffee becaus eit keeps you up aaaaaallllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllll night and you end up writting stuff that may or may not make sense.

I do remeber assassin well, lot of fun. A bit tougher in this edition though, good objective! So is it all HQs or just the leader? and do all of my HQs have to survive? Time to dig out tenchu and warm up

yeah just to clarify, it is any HQ choice chosen by you, (to defend) and the HQ you have to kill can be chosen either by you (as its possible to play this as a sub game to a standard mission and not tell your opponent, although the game WILL NOT end when the chosen HQ choice is killed) or if you let the opponent know / break out the 4th ed rules and play the full assassination game the HQ choice you have to kill is choosen by your opponent.

This HQ choice can be anything that falls under the HQ roster in the army books, and will be the only model to be killed unless it can be attached to a squad which DOESNT require a another force slot,

i.e a space marine commander can take a command squad as the same HQ slot - both the squad and IC will need to be killed

if the commander has joined a unit, say a vanguard squad (so 1 HQ and 1 Fast attack slot) only the commander needs to be killed. Telion could be handy for this

It is up to you (or your opponent) what you fight, be it a single commisar, or a full space marine commander and command squad on bikes. It all depends on the luck of the draw.


Also note, if multiple HQ choices are on the field you will only have to kill/defend 1 of them, this is then chosen by you or your opponent.
