Well, in America today people will be celebrating Thanksgiving, a day for large feasts, football and good time spent with family.


I just wanted to wish all those who celebrate this holiday a happy thanksgiving, and hope you have a fun, and safe day.

Our "food-centric" celebrations are on sundays,so we don't shift work to eat birds.

lol, actually Fhadhq, the "purpose" of thanksgiving is to have a day where you reflect on what you are truly thankful for, and in its oldest "traditions" the English pilgrims who fled England were greeted with kindness by some of the native indian tribes, who taught them things like the fact that corn is edible, and other sorts of plants, they taught them the lay of the land and many other useful things...and so the day of "thanksgiving" was started at the end of harvest, where the whole town/family would gather and feast, and be thankful for all that God had provided them that year.

of course, we all know what happened to the natives soon after the pilgrims arrived in america

if we reflect here always when someone "official"supposes us to,
We would turn into mirrors.

Our "harvest" celebrations are related to local church => the day of the saint its dedicated. (kirchweih).
We may not eat turkeys but i think our Food also acceptable.

And we know that brits need to be educated in usage of food.

We invented Chicken tikka Masala, and i secretly think we invented pizza and sold the idea to the italians in a bid to make all italian men fat and ugly. (it failed )

So you brits "invented" chickens tikka masala ? Doesn't help much. Can't remember any restaurant here having it
PS: we have : Italian/Greeks/chinese/kroatian/thai/india to choose from if searching for non-german food.

Now now people! Let's not let this American Holiday spark an international flame-war that could start a dispute that could very well lead to an International Incident! That's what the 4th of July is for!

Actually we didn't just invent Chicken Tikka Masala here...we invented most "Curry House" food... Curries that are traditionally served in India/Pakistan/Bangladesh etc are almost totally different in flavour, texture and preparation!

Anyway, since this has gone waaaay off topic, I wish every American woman/female foreign national in America a safe Black Friday and hope that nobody was cruelly bludgeoned to death in the sale queues by a money spinning maniac with a basket!
