well.. it seems that while the ultras were the ones who compiled/wrote the Codex... they havent perfected the way to pull off a drop pod landing ;)

Maybe a misprint of the holly codex ?

This seems it was a badly done thunderhawk drop.
Possible someone made a mistake when copying the codex and forgot an " , " and the marines jumped out at a high altitude....

Not that much damage suprisingly 1 emperors champ, 1 techmarine and 1 chappy. Not a misprint just a miss blessing, one of the locks on the carry case didn't shut properly.
On a side note now you know how much of a true friend he is. "Do I stand here and take photos or help?" lol.

Um, so on a serious note, I kinda dislike the hardcore gamer cases, for me theres too much shift and they aren't specific enough size wise to really keep them in place. Any thoughts on other cases, how to make the gw ones more stable?

well i have a custome case that i spent about four hours converting.

take the standard hard case, cut specific holes or bar out to fit your minis, then if it is sayone and a half time times the size of the newly cut space, thread a bit of wire, like small 1mm pinning wire) through the bar, and attached them into place (can use a bit of superglue but don't go overboard.

otherwise there are companies who can make i think it's four foam inserts (so you can have more men in a tray) best one i know about is Battlefoam, which does what i've just mentioned and also custom work.

as for the cases themselves i prefer the hardcase, just cause i too have a tendency to knock it quite a lot so i choose to use a firm plastic case rather than a different brand. (more because im paranoid then anything else)

from memory, you can get cases from sable, and once again battlefoam. don't use the cheap-ish cardboard ones for anything except storage. hade quite a terrible experiance with one in the past so i may be biased.

Cool! I've been using hobby and craft plastics until I can get an army case for the RG. My son uses one of the smaller warhammer cases for his eldar and they get knocked around a lot. We're getting serious about painting, so I guess its time to make the investment.

This is what just about everyone i know uses:

http://www.mini-soft.com.au/

Although you have to buy the case separate , they are extremely easy to get.

I personally use a cheap (£4) plastic tool box lined with soft foam that I pillaged from work's waste bins for my travel case. Works a charm, custom cut and holds 100 Marines, 4 Dreadnoughts, 4 Rhino's (and the magnetic parts to convert them into Razors/Whirls/Preds)
