well hopping the channel isn't really worth it because you pay the trainticket in euro, just make sure your order is big enough that it gets you free p&p. the local game club gathered enough orders to reach the free p&p amount.
i found it very hard not to order to much... ( the superheavy IG tanks from forgeworld were actually cheaper than the baneblade in european stores !) i've got : inq lok, the new termie inq, inq rhinodoors, greyknight landraider doors, salamander rhino and landraider doors, brass edged inq symbols, 5 roughriders from the death korps AND a thunderbolt fighterplane. i'm a happy person at the moment :p
if this all gets finished my imperial army will reach +10000pts (3000 deamonhunters, 2750 salamanders,1000 deathwatch,1750 ravenguard,500 white scars, 1000 IG,1 flyer and 2 superheavytanks) thinking of it : i need to stop buying models...

YAY! I'm not the only one here with an unhealthy Forge World obsession!

The Thunderbolt IS a lovely model though isn't it?

Yeah but they aren't very good and I'm in the middle of redoing a load of my models...

However if you absolutely insist, they can be seen here.

Freehand...though I'm tempted to redo it using vinyl masking tape and the spray gun to tidy up the edges...

What happened to the red table? Looks like orange now.....

But nice choice to combine orange and black. :)

Like the FW inq. and the thunderbolt.

Its a rare sight here, not much flyers around.

So in general its a fine model, but as you noticed the bullet-impacts need some work.

Bullets do not spread in a straight line, they come in from weapons on moving gun-mounts ( AA on ground or other flyers ) therfore you need to have
a little "dancing" line, maybe more like a snake winding, try to do this and your thunderbolt will benefit. :)

pva glue works wonders - i used it on my ulthwe eldar tanks and vyper canopies and was a bit worried as it ran all over the inside, but when it dries you cant see it at all !

i'll try it but i fear it means i'll have to redo the total wing , it has to appear as though it was strafed by an enemy fighterplane
(probably ork because it didn't crash after the hits :) )

i'd also like to know how to create depth where there is none, what i did on the impacts was : chaos black, boltgun metal with some black revealed, 2 brown washes and 1 black wash.

I love the look of the robed marines. I take it they are just DA marines painted red?
