my chapter is alled the deaht ravens ill try to get my photos up tomorrow

so for now heres my fluff:

the death ravens chapter originated shortly after corax left to entr the warp. the brothers belive that because of corax's sins (the weregeld or something like that) they must fight the enemies of the emperorer. they feel that they must remove all personal names and helardery and fanaticly fight the enemy. they fight rarely however the will launch a crusade every thousand years with the whole chapter and continue it until only 100 marines survive (storing the geneseed of every fallen marine).

tactics: all troops deep strike usauly through drop pod assults vangaurd veterns are very rare as most assult marines die fairly early due to the crazy fighing stlye they use (no defense and little blocking taking every hit that comes). sterngaurds are also very rare as all veterns have fought in the previous crusade. The few dreadnaughts that do exist drop pod in as close to enemy armor as possible. no scouts are used as the crusaades to not begin until their training is completed (there is no time to gain battle experiance during fights). tereinator armor is almost never used as it makes it harder to die.

black templar codex is NOT used as they do not chose who they fight selectivly! theyll fight anyone really anyone! pls i need a match!

blood angels codex is not used as they do not fight in close combat much (make little sense combat has been found to make crusade rather short, infact the first crusade lasted only six months due to the insanity of the troop in Clost combat

sounds like a very interesting start, i'd first check your spelling and grammar, to more effectively get across what you are trying to say.

also, granted that we dont know when corax went into the warp, but do you have an idea what founding u want your chapter coming from (ie. 3rd, or 4th so on??)

Are you sure the "death ravens" should "want" to die?
I mean , an astartes job is to ensure the death of the emperors enemys... not themselves.
Could the DeathRavens get their own reasons to go for a crusade to repent/redeem/kill a set amount of enemys?
It is imaginable (in the grimdarkof dark grimness) to have some "lifeweary" marines but the selfdestructive way
to fight until only 100 are left will extinct a chapter at the first try. I do think 100 marines are close to be lost
(in fact of geneseed losses) or sent to a kamikaze mission by the inquisition (if your dead for sure why not use you a
last time for a nice firework?).
A fine recrutement base to ensure refillment with new "scouts" would help there. And some work at the "founding-issue"
as Ensis mentioned too.
Maybe the "deathravens" fight until 1 squad is left (per battle-company), so they can replace losses from reserves?
There is some fluff from GW indicating you need more than 100 marines to have a chapter survive.

I believe it will come out well with a little work and we hope for pics.

again as i said i have not read all the books besides i said a hundered marines

i feel they store all the geneseed of every dead marine, which means the get the gene seed of 900 marines (plus other marines like libby's, captains etc)

also maybe they should crusade every 1000 years

on the death point we all no corax left out of disgrace and guilt so these marine fight in his memory and so dont care how many of them die and only back out because they need to fight again
one way i could justify this is that to wipe away the stain of a single weregeld 100 marines must spill there blood

so if the chapters been in existance for i don't know maybe 3 millenia about 9000 of about 50,000 weregeld

so they still have alot of crusading to do

easiest way to post photos, is to get an account with photobucket, or flickr or some such website, upload photos onto that site...

then once that is done, on here, use the IMG codes to get the photos to show up on the screen (works best if you have the photo site up as well, so that you can copy/paste the codes right into the text block on SoC)

Must ave: images stored on Hard drive. Most hosts use JPEG or a similar format to keep the amount of data small.

-sadly,we don't have any advice how your image-hosts links are typed in those [] .
flickr for example,is done: farm4.static.flickr.com /0000/000000000_00000000.(insert size here).(insert format),
numbers ,in my examples 0's are image-specific and also given by the hoster and size is represented: m/s/l
and format could be: jpeg. Please remember this is the way for flickr and other hosts can be different.

Option 2:

-click on "new thread" or "reply" to open the window for your post.
-go for the bottom of the window-> "add image to post" , click it.
-window from imageposter.com pops up,
- open the folder where you have the images ,
-add a name and click on "upload".
-image will be automatically inserted into your post.
-now you can add another image.

my plan is to repair the broken marine, repaint the commander, and when my local store gets some 3 marine pack repalce the assult marine with normal dude

this will be on hold for a little as i need some wolf boyz and a wyvern for my orcs

thanks the custon pod was made out of a cup, some maccarge parts, and card board.

i almost do with my captain just need to wash him, i've been kinda busy repainting some of my orc lately as soon as thiar finished ill get started on my unpainted pod next, its already primed it just needs some skull white and a wash or 2

sorry i haven't pout in much work lately ive been busy getting ready for a tourney, and hadn't had time for pics

unfortunately most of my men are paint stripper now do to some hurtful comments (granite marines, hmpf!)


so i have taken the time while they strip to devise a new paint scheme and fluff

first the fluff

i agree that the idea of suicidal marines is ok but needs better justifacion

so rather than having the be crazy i decided that they suffer from mental instability due to vast gene seed flaws

(note: prepare for highly disputably material, i will not feel THAT hurt if you say it sucks, also i have a very fuzzy map of space)

very little is known of the death ravens early history they are believed to be from the 4th founding however under different name. the chapter was based on a world on the opposite side of the eye of terror from cadia. (the rest of chapters history is highly suspect and is from unreliable accounts) the chapter was attacked by a black legion war band which turned the planet into a toxic waste while the chapter was aiding in defeating a trynid force . for a unknown reason the black legion retreated to the eye of terror. the chapter returned to the planet and unloaded its entire force without knowing of the radiation. the toxins disabled the warp drives of the ships and corrupted the planet marines and all of their supplies. all that is known is that almost 2 milenea later a chapter showed up on mars asking for geneseed to help repair itself, the chapter had lost all but 4 of its organs were lost (progoid glands and carpace were kept) the adeptus mechanius said that they could not give the geneseed of another chapter. (note i have 2 idea for what happens here vote!!! (1: the mechinus says no the marines sneak in and steal the geneseed of many chapters as to not arouse suspion) 2: the mechinus wants to experiment geneseed mixing and justifies this with the excuse "well they could be any chapter")

the chapter was so tampered by the radiation on their ship that they did not know there own names, founders, and even primarch.


gene seed

the gene seed activation process has been know to cause permenate insanity causing marines to forget there names, and even there training.

the death ravens army incredably disfigured and become even mor e so as time passes they become more and more insane and crippled due to self muliation the chapter master has hurt him self so much he is now a dreadnought.

battle doctrine

the death ravens are chapter based on 1 giant battle barge and so captain have much reduced role. the chapter use a fleet of drop pods to deploy troops as hull space is need for troops not tanks or or thunder hawks, although the ship still supports fleet of all of tanks and ships.

the chapter is largely codex in orginisation because of the many inherent geneseeds pulling them in all directions.

the battle barge has gone by various names over the years due to the marines suddenly forgetting everything due to the corrupted (radiated progenoid glands) and patch work genetic make up.

scouts are almost never used as they will forget it as soon as they become battle brothers, the chapters paint scheme changes as the various geneseeds take hold (at the moment they look like a combination of space wolves and blood angels


the current chapter master (in dreadnought armor) beilives his name to be "Dready" as his first memory after his last wiping is one of a ork warboss yelling to his boys "take out that dready"

what do you guys think? a little to far fetched or not bad? if you dont like it ill go back to the orginal fluff. i like the idea of the patchwork gene seed despite the unlikelyness
