so the new ink that ive been using dries very shiny, and it seems to highlight all the mess on the model. These are about 85% done - theres some obvious cleanup work that needs to happen, and a dull coat to get that nasty shine off. Worked on faces a bit too

Cant wait to get these guys to a finished spot. After this, just 5 more marines and a shrike - ill do my first basing run.

- edit: odd image poster isnt working. uploading through imageshack now.

look good! cant see the shine from the photos though, but i know what you mean. Dull coat will right your world.

Update - Since i took the pics early today, the stages you may see might not match the list I posted @ the end.

Oh - and when you get to my list - finished DOESNT MEAN BASED!
Going to base them all at once after my infantry are 100% finished. Was planing on basing them in a black/charcoal OR dark orange rocky scree-field. black would look great, but orange might contrast nicely with the slight amount of blue in my force. Would love to hear some feedback/ideas on the basing. Originally planned for tundra but I think i want a big environment contrast to their armor. Not really a fan of overly "organic" bases either, with lots of grass and whatnot.

Some random pics!

Sterns WIP - Just finished blacking and basic head layouts - Metal/Details/Cleanup - especially on white - in that order to come later.... For some reason when i need a break from my termies or tacs i turn to my sternguard... The PF stern has been done for awhile.

Here's the current list plan
Quote:
Hq
* Expedition Leader Osiris Solarium, Explorer of the Solar North (Counts as Vulkan) - 190

Troops
* 10 man tactical Squad "Watchers of the Northern Vale" - flamer, ML, rhino - 205
* 10 man tactical Squad "Watchers of the Summit" - flamer, ML, rhino - 205

Elite
* 5 Man terminator squad "Specters of Ursa Major" - 200
LRC with MM - 260 "The Boreal Meteor"

* 5 Man terminator squad "Specters of Polaris" - 200
LRC with MM - 260 "The Notos Meteor"

* Ironclad Dreadnought, "Orion's Will" MG, Hvy Flmr, Drop pod - 180

Fast Attack
* Attack bike squadron "The twin comets" - 2 MM - 100

* Attack Bike "Apollo's Arrow" 1MM - 50

1850/1850

Could remove a bike + the ironclad and add in 2 vindicators. Definitely something worth thinking about - your thoughts? For the moment, I think I like the ironclad, as it can really tie up units that give Hammernators a run for their money (Big blood crusher units, etc) and gives me a nice, scary deep striking unit to turn the pressure on early and hopefully soak up some AT fire- However, by turn 2, my Ironclad should be in CC (meaning its no longer soaking up AT) and it can only soak half the firepower that 2 vindies could.

On the other hand, in the late game, im slightly worried about the vindies scattering on to my precious terminators.

Anyway, here are some pics.

Again (oops didnt mean to take this one)

Redid this Sarge, new head - I like it alot, but flicked skull white all over his dome! no time to redo it right now though.
