So, in my group's 40k campaign, so far the daemons are just beginning to appear on an imperial world, while PDF guardsmen, Grey Knights and Eldar fight amongst themselves. However, pretty soon it's my turn again to make a scenario, and then I'm going to add in the Tyranids, in a combined attack on the outskirts of the main imperial city. While this is not going to be a very large battle, I would like to make it as special and fun as possible, as it will involve getting 4 players in the same place at one time.

So, these are the ideas so far:

The defenders will set up in trenches.
The trenches will give a 4+ cover save, or a 2+ if the unit goes to ground.
I will probably add in the minefield rules found somewhere in the campaign section of the big rulebook.
The Gods of chaos are using the Tyranids to strike at the outer fortifications and let the Daemons defile the holy chapel of St Marchant within the city, so I'm trying to make rules to give the Nids boni depending upon which god has more daemons on the table.

But are there any other ideas people have? I might also add in a preliminary bombardment of spore mines, but I'm not sure.

Well, my first thoughts are that the situation is not explained very well: how does Chaos influence the Tyranids? I didn't think it was likely. So I threw fluff out the window ...

Will there be even points or will the defenders have less in order to use mines or something similar?

What about reinforcements for the defenders?

Is this Apoc or not?

i would say ok but i would be better to use CSM or dark eldar, as nids, orks, and tau have no warp presence

CSM could become 1k sons if TZ, noise if slannesh, plauge if nurgle, and khorne berzerkers, if khorne, or just use marks to deal with models and wargear

that would add randomness, but if you must ahve a nid player worked in ditch the connection, as nids are too large to be corrupted

i like the idea mind if i steal it?
